According to the NY Times, corporate shill and general asshole Ajit Pai, FCC Chairman is under investigation from within his own department for possible corruption charges. He is on a first name basis with CEOs of all the major telecoms, having come from the industry and apparently timed this regulation rollback to favor a company called Sinclair.
He pushed through allowing companies to buy ALL media outlets in a given market, including TV, radio and newspaper so that a geographic area gets only ONE source of local news. Nobody in their right mind thinks that benefits American citizens, just like this rollback of Net Neutrality. But hey, corporate masters, right?
