I only really occasionally shared my posts from here, it was never a large part of my online usage. Now, if we had to do that with Hive then I would definitely be looking for out of the way approaches around the problem.

Just sucks that they had to block access. If they are able to partner with another company to cover the ID check, I would have no problem verifying just because I had a friend or two over there (but I am sure we are friends on Meta platforms too, just neither of us use them much).

Yeah, I only really use Twitter/X and Blue Sky for sharing Hive links. Right not, those still work in Florida without age verification but I don't doubt that will change. I'm not really interested in providing ID or proof of anything to them so if that happens, I will probably drop them (or use TOR if it's not too much of a bother).

I have TOR but I use it for other things. I like to use different browsers and such so I can work on things without distraction. This works well because the different browsers now all save your open tabs and I have horrible "shiny object" syndrome and am easily distracted. I tried saving things in groups but they don't update when I close a tab, I have to make a new group, delete the old group, etc.

Giving ID to use a social media platform just doesn't work for me. I liked Bluesky but not enough to jump through that hoop for the little bit I used it. I wouldn't provide ID for Facebook or X or any other verification site either, though I did with YouTube years ago but I pay bills off using YouTube.

Hopefully the whole ID online thing figures itself out sooner than later. I can count the number of sites I would ID verify with on one hand and not miss the hundreds of others in my various browser tabs.
