Trump Denies Saudi Financial Interests After Bragging About Them
--In the wake of the Jamal Khasshoggi scandal, Donald Trump falsely claims that he has no financial interests in Saudi Arabia or with Saudi Arabians despite having bragged about these financial interests and entanglements in the past
Yes. And this is exactly why the Constitution has the emoluments clause: to prevent a president from coming under foreign influence, putting his personal financial interests above the interests of the nation.
But with one political party in charge of all three branches of government, the checks and balances of the Constitution fall apart, and we drift closer to autocracy. If Congress won't hold the president responsible and censure his bad acts, no one else can.
Yep, we have the clause, we just don't have anyone interested in enforcing it
David, learn the lesson you already know. Contradictory bullshit comes out of Trump's mouth 24/7. Of course he has ties and of course he's gonna say he doesn't and of course he wont do anything. I am waiting for election day and hoping he gets a comeuppance.
BTW: Kudos to you man. Just discover the channel like 6 days ago, but I'm hooked. Both entertaining and informative. Let me know if you ever need a Russia expert for some commentary or background. Cheers.
