Utrecht has 316 bus stops, so far, covered with Sedum plants. And in another 96 stops solar panels have also been installed. The energy they generate feeds the digital display that shows information at the bus stop.

Sustainability has become increasingly the center of attention in recent years in everything they do in Utrecht.

As a result, RBL Outdoor was able to transform approximately 75% of the city's bus stops into a paradise for bees and other insects. Although plants also have other environmental benefits.

The installation of the plants costs 1,300 euros, in addition to 300 euros per year of maintenance. Its useful life is 20 years, as long as it is properly maintained.
