Antonov AN-26 Destroyed After Crash in South Sudan

A Skiva Air Antonov AN-26 skidded of the runway and caught fire attempting to land at the Maban Airstrip near the city of Bunj in South Sudan. The aircraft operating as a cargo flight attempted to land on the dirt airstrip in a rain storm and skidded off the north end of the runway sustaining substantial damage that lead to a fire. The crew escaped with minor injuries but the aircraft and cargo were a total loss.
