I've got some bad news for you. You are being brainwashed. And the reason why I say that is because everything that you hear, see, and read is influencing the way that you think.
Now if you watch the news you might think that humans are getting worse and it's getting less and less safe and everything is getting more dangerous but nothing could be further from the truth.
A Harvard professor did a study and found out that this is the safest time to be alive as a human being.
To give you some statistics from the Bureau Of Justice and from the FBI's website, since 1993 firearm homicides have dropped 39%. Non-fatal firearm accidents have gone down 69%.
Now if you watched the news you'd think the exact opposite of that. You'd think that it's getting worst, right?
Now let's talk about the rest of the world.
Is the rest of the world getting safer?
It absolutely is!
The amount of deaths per year per capita from war across the world is one-twelth of what it was in the 1950's. This is the safest time to be alive as a human.
You might ask yourself; Why would the news concentrate on so much negativity if the world is actually getting better?
And the reason why is because they understand the way your brain works.
Your brain is designed to look for the negative and the reason why is because your brain wants you to stay alive so it focuses on the negative.
A nation of sheep will soon attract a government of wolves.
So if the news puts out more and more negative you're more likely to watch. Your brain is going to get addicted to watching that negativity.
Which in turn turns into more advertising dollars for the news companies that you're watching. So of course it seems more negative.
Of course it seems like the world is getting worse but there has never been a time where it has been more safe to be a human than right now.
So what can you take from this?
Instead of watching the news and thinking that the world is negative and allowing them to brainwash you, you can brainwash yourself.
You can start reading books. You can watch motivational, or instructional, or educational stuff on YouTube. You can listen to podcasts.
Because here's the deal. No matter what you listen to, or watch, or read, it's going to brainwash you.
So why don't you brainwash yourself with something that's going to be beneficial for you versus what the media continues to feed you.
Because if you continue to eat what they feed you, you have to deal with the sickness that is going to happen in your mind.
Watching television slips your brain into alpha waves, a slow brainwave pattern in which the mind is in its most receptive mode. Influences and suggestions are implanted directly into the mind without viewer participation.
Repeated exposure whittles away at the viewers ability to think for themselves and the thoughts implanted are mistakenly believed by the viewer to be their own thoughts.
Hypnosis is induced and the viewer submits to the unending images on the television screen.

Great post man. There's so much of this that reality is no longer real at all in any way. I keep telling my loved ones this and the only people who don't think I'm nuts is my kids. Actors in a play.
Bless your kids for listening to their wise Dad <3 <3 <3 Gives me hope for the next generation if there's parents like us raising aware and conscious children!
You kids get it and that gives me hope. Made me smile to hear that.
There is a reason why they call it programming. They main purpose is to program the apathetic sheeple that are too tired, distracted or drugged by our horrible GMO foods and fluoridated water to care. Yes they want a compliant non-thinking, impersonal world that they can more easily control. It is all part of their master plan. What can we do? Educate others of the truth of this subliminal garbage, help get folks off the dinosaur media and addictive food, inform others of the lies we have been fed for decades. And get it in their face. The sheeple have been led astray for far too long without a thinking brain and a moral and spiritual compass to direct them. Great post my friend. - Troy
Exactly. I'll choose my own programming for my own mind, thank you very much. So, how do you propose to "get in their face" about it?
I do not know but can offer some ideas. As legislation is far too slow of a process for change but one that needs to be pursued, a more immediate tool would be money. Not buying or supporting the machine. They seam to listen or back off if they know they are loosing revenue dollars. I am unconventional in my thought process but instead of shopping at Walmart or Target all the time i buy much if not most of what I need from estate sales. My money goes farther and I am not funding the enemy. Also I am sure they do not like or want bad publicity. A grass roots out of the box creative effort for change would be good. Research and see how others have been successful to change the platform. Also reseach the enemy and see how that have brainwashed the sheeple. Through the decades there have been workshops and courses for just that. Our former president Obama was indoctrinated on how to agitate, manipulate and brain wash a crowd. Why cannot the good guy know how to use the same tools? Finally educating the sheeple is important. They are hitting us on all levels - media, food, air, social media, health care, financial, and so much more. IT is a spiritual battle most of all between good and evil.
There are warriors in our camp. Some have produced movies on some of these subjects educating the public. Dinesh D'Souza and Joel Gilbert come to mind. Dr. Tenpenny has been fighting the vaccine war. Joel Skousen has also wrote on strategic relocation of where to live in case of an emergency. Dr. Wallach has been fighting the health field battle with Dead Doctors Don't Lie and Youngevity. But we need others to wake up the sheeple and find those future fearless few who will help to make change happen.
I once was a sheeple too. I was fed the lies about 911 and building 7 and then I woke up. I started listening to alternative media. It was an eye opener. SGT Report, USA Watchdog (Greg Hunter), Infowars, Coast to Coast, Greg Mannarino, Drudge, etc. Perhaps the truth is in between, but I woke up and have not fallen asleep since.
The colleges and universities subliminally mold you to be a sheeple. The teach to to believe all the liberal crap you are fed by your professors. Sad. This started with a few left wing thinkers of 150 years ago brainwashing a few professors in our universities. Slowly our higher learning institutions became propaganda centers to teach student s to become teachers and brain washers to the nation. Again sad. It is a battle but one that needs our attention. I would ad we have seen some small victories with Brixit and an non-establishment person elected president in America. we are sending a message but there is soo much work. What do you recommend to help minimize this problem? Thanks again for such a great post. - Troy.
I'm of the thinking that instead of trying to change the existing world we need to create a new one that makes the old way of doing things obsolete.
The current power structure is going to resist and put up obstacles to prevent them from losing control. By building a new world we take away their power without fighting them at all.
Examples are going solar, using electric cars, cryptocurrency, grow our own food. It is already happening all over the world and the less control the corporations have the better off humanity will be.
By removing our consent to be governed the way it is now and choosing to vote with our money corporations will embrace the changes or perish.
He he...Sheeple.
I couldn't agree with you more. I see so many of the things people post online, or even the things people I've known all my life say to me because of what the news said and so on. I just wish they would read, do their research, and develop opinions based on their own perception. Not just seeing media and going along, or believing information just because they were told that's how it is. Honestly one of the best reads I've saw recently, thanks for sharing! Upvoted and resteemed.
P.S. You're not trying to brainwash me, right?!
I only brainwash dirty minds.
You know the funny thing is that many of the facts they present as truth are so easy to debunk if people would only check the facts for themselves.
For example, the immigration problem in America and illegal immigrants coming into our borders. One only has to look at the US Immigration website to discover that since 1980 there have been just as many people leaving the US back to Mexico as there have been coming into the US illegally. There they will also find that 89% of all illegal immigrants coming into the US from Mexico do so on an airplane so building a wall won't solve the "fake" problem.
In my lifetime Ronald Reagan stood in front of the Berlin wall and said, "Tear down this wall" and now we have people wanting to build one. Crazy.
We call democratically elected leaders in other countries dictators if they don't support our foreign policies of taking their oil and no one here calls the media on it for fear of being called un-American. We invade countries all the time to control their resources in the name of democracy. It's insane.
Quote from Edward Bernays in his book "Propaganda":
“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. ...We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. ...In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons...who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.”
Edward Bernays is the father of propaganda which was rebranded as public relations after World War 2. That book is the playbook for all the brainwashing we have been subjected to for decades now.
A lot of great thoughts in here! Thanks for the post.
Absolutely agree! Thank you for share it
But.. But.. We need sensational news!
No, we don't. We need critical thinkers and creativity.
You do get I was sarcastic right...
Yes, of course.
Ok, just checking ^^

Great Post @luzcypher - this is so true. I've been tuning out "mainstream news" for quite a long time, and my mind is better for it. So many people are so used to living in fear, that they don't know any other way. And the "bad news" outlets know what sells. Stop giving them your attention . It isn't a true picture.
It's so much bull shit these days I can hardly stand it. And I can't believe how many of my friends and family are falling for this shit.
Same here. Ive lost close Friends over debates based on MSM vs truth. Its sad man..but what is to do but to Keep fighting ✊🏽
Good idea!
The biggest market in the world is fear.
It's a big market for sure but I'm much more into sex than fear. Creativity beats fear in my book.
The only thing to fear is fear itself
great work

Thats why I like steemit. I enjoy what i find to read and the community is almost exclusively positive at least in their interactions with each other. However if its true to human nature then we should make sure the titles of our posts represent a negative to attract more attention which I believe you did. And it worked :)
You noticed that. Very clever.
Well, that's the reason why I don't watch too much TV. I only watch Dragonball Super, read manga , and listen to Senate Hearings because 99% of the news are all twisted.
Well it is so true that news etc social media brainwashed ur mind especially the negative kind , I love the way u said , brainwash urself in the right direction ! Watch things that benefits u create positivity which will keep you healthy . :-)
I am video editor and graphic animator and even if I work mostly for German TV I do not have TV at home since more than 7 years now.
In Video editing they are 7 very important aspects to have in consideration and the most important is "Feelings" or emotions... and is the only one they use all the time, the manipulation of emotions or feelings in any news out there is very evident.
I'm in sales and we use the same techniques. People buy things with their emotions more than their logic. It's just the way we're wired.
I know, my experience told (tell) me that the only way to avoid this manipulation is having the less possible contact with.
I haven't owned a TV for 7 or 8 years for a reason...
Youtube can be just as bad, depending on what you watch. The good thing is that you choose what you watch on youtube to a much greater extent than what is possible on TV.
There is more of a choice to select from as well and many different opinions.
Indeed there is! If you can think of it, you can probably find it on youtube.
Your post is so well written and with great content. I noticed the influence of TV on my behaviour quite a while ago. I realised that I'm a much better, organised, creative and calmer person when I abstain from television programs for a couple of weeks. My temperament stabilised, my thoughts purer and I was able to perform better on the things that were important to me. No wonder my dad gave away our television when we were little! Thanks for sharing. I look forward to more of your posts.
We very rarely watched TV growing up. All of us were outside most of the time and when we gathered indoors we played music. Everyone in my household plays an instrument so we were our own entertainment. I guess that is why I was an entertainer for so many years. It's just what we did.
I remember the time I realized that the average household was just glued to the television. I felt so sorry for them. They looked so bored.
I just got back from a trip to California in the wine country of Sonoma and my first impression after being gone for so many years living in Mexico is that everyone in the US seems so bored. All the stores are closed so early and no one in the neighborhood was outside talking to their neighbors.
It's kind of sad. You walk down the street at 6 pm and all you see is the glow of TV's in the windows but the neighborhood looks abandoned. Compared to Mexico it looks bland.
@luzcypher You are right about everything. Use your head before somebody else uses it for you. Don't be a zombie. I am sure it rhymes.
The mainstream news media make profits from brainwashing millions of viewers with misguided information. I'm glad you posted this and I enjoyed reading it.
Great... Thanks for this
'Watching TV slips our brain into some alpha waves, which puts us in that receptive mode.'
Is it about the imagery, or the waves from the TV screen, or the content of programs?
I don't watch TV at all, I have laptop, and all I do is read such articles and read books. Facebook is enough for news, because all my friends do is put the links of the news on their timeline. So I go there for few minutes just to make sure I don't get totally out of touch.
It's actually both the images and the waves.
Did you know that nearly all of the technology in many of the world's most ubiquitous electronic devices can be traced to a single, taxpayer-funded source: the US Department of Defense. They paid for GPS, smart phones, smart TV's, fiber-optic cable installations, etc., the list goes on.
Why would the government spend nearly $10 billion in 2010 alone to ensure poor people can have access to smart TV's?
There is something going on they are not telling us about. Call me crazy but I don't trust the DoD.
I don't think you are crazy, and if you found any kind of pun in my lines, it was not intended.
I have yet another crazy idea,-one should read books on smart-phones and watch those motivational youtube videos as well, the waves will put more effect and it will backfire them.
CNN=ISIS.
UPVOTED.
very good.
I would be happy if you like to follow me and give your opinion about my posts.
Thanks.
fear is the weapon, repeating the message is the technique, enveloping you in the noise is the method / free minds for a more beautiful world
Awesome! You really hit the nail of head with this one boss. The images we see and place in our subconscious are exactly what we fall back when coning face to face with a similar situation in real life. If that isn't brainwashing, idk what is!
We need to be our own programmer and fill our heads with encouraging thoughts.
Did you know that the average person has 75,000 thoughts a day? The thing is most of those thoughts are the same ones they had yesterday.
Habitual thoughts become our reality so it is so important that we fill those thoughts with things we want to become our reality. Think about what we want not what we don't want.
The programming we are being subjected to on TV is filled with fears and things we don't want. Just the opposite of what we need. Thing of what we want and do it often and continually.
Another thoughtful, well-written, and insightful article! As for me, you're preaching to the choir... the hope however, is that we get as many good people as we can to join in the chorus of truth, logic, understanding, and reason... You're doing a great service to that end my friend... Keep it up!
Good to know you're part of the choir. Halellulia.
Oh yeah - ... consider me a "seasoned veteran!"
Reminds me of several movies. The Matrix and one obscure one that starred Rowdy Roddy Piper called They Live. In full agreement. I live out in the country away from the neon pollution and havent watched a network station show, including the news, in years. I do listen to the radio, but not sure what life would be like without music.
Five star post ⛤⛤⛤⛤⛤👍
Another reason why we focus on negative news is that it tends to happen suddenly and unexpectedly. On the other hand, good news happens progressively. "Breaking News: Infant mortality has been steadily decreasing over the past 50 years" doesn't really make for a great headline.
