James Rodriguez will not continue at Real Madrid next season. The Colombian will spend the 2017/2018 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
"FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have reached agreement over Colombia national team transfer James Rodriguez to the German champions on Tuesday," the official statement Die Roten
"James Rodriguez will sign a contract in Munich after a successful medical test."
In the loan contract, James is not only a season in Bayern but two seasons until 2019 at a cost of 5 million euros per season. Later there will be a permanent option where Bayern have to pay 35 million euros.
What is certain this James move confirms the news that Bayern was approaching him lately. Moreover, the German club will release Douglas Costa to Juventus and need a replacement player as soon as possible.
James who lost his place in the main squad of Madrid certainly did not waste the opportunity Bayern offer. Not to mention Bayern coach Carlo Ancelotti, the coach who in 2014 took him to Madrid from AS Monaco.
During strengthening Madrid, James is less shining because it does not gain confidence in the core squad. James's signal to leave stronger after he did not enter the Madrid team in the Champions League final last month.
In the 2016/2017 season, James only appeared 33 times with a notch 13 goals and 11 assists. He has 1,824 minutes of play or an average of 55 minutes
