In the Radisson Blu Hotel in the capital today, the four-day 'Excaniata AWARDS Dhaka-017' in the Information Technology sector started on Thursday. The real fight for the APICTA prize starts tomorrow from tomorrow. 66 judges from different countries will choose from 177 projects in 17 divisions for two days. 47 projects from Bangladesh are participating in the competition. The prize will be given to the winners on December 10.
Appicata prize of 2017 convener Russell T. Ahmed said, Appicotta is an honorable competition. After a year of planning and preparation, today Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA), the largest organization of the Asia-Pacific region's IT sector, has started. In addition to the development of the information technology sector of this region, every year, Apikta Awards are organized to recognize potential and successful initiatives, software and information technology. For the first time, APICTA Awards are being held in Bangladesh. Australia, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Nepal have participated in 16 countries of the Epicator membership.
Epikota organizer team member Didarul Alam said that today the inauguration of the ceremony and competitions of the contestants have passed the examination. The main verification phase will begin tomorrow.
BASIS President Mustafa Jabber said the name of Bangladesh was announced as the organizer of the 2017 APICTA Award ceremony in Taipei, Taiwan last year. For the first time in Bangladesh, such a big information technology event has been organized with more than 400 foreign guests.
