Sadly, the Labour Party supports the detention of Julian Assange. I wrote to my local MP Thelma Walker, who is I believe the PPS to John McDonnell, and was informed that the Labour Party supports whatever action the government decides to take with regard to Julian's ''detention''. How shameful!

We must step up pressure upon the Labour Party to support Assange's release. There are people such as Baroness Chakrabarti, former head of human rights group Liberty, who we should approach to support the campaign.
You cannot realistically expect anything from the current Tory government that is cap in hand with the military adventures/human rights abuses of the American empire.
