Are Bill Gates an Angel or a Devil?

in #news4 years ago

Dear @valued-customer rates Bill Gates as immoral.
However, in East Asia, Bill Gates is regarded as a great hero and savior.
Bill Gates has given tremendous support, especially to Korea and China. So, many Koreans and Chinese dream to become software conglomerates like Bill Gates.

Bill Gates is respected by East Asians for the fact that he became the world's richest man with a computer program.
So, many Koreans now try to be software developers. They are eager to be like Bill Gates.
You will be surprised to see how many Koreans spend their time, effort and money trying to become software developers.

Many Koreans listen to lectures through YouTube, especially famous ones.
Nicholas' class, called the genius coder, is particularly popular. He is a Colombian and is very popular with Koreans.
I'm taking a computer lecture by @roleerob's recommendation, but the lecture is difficult. Because I'm poor at English, I'm listening to lectures by Nicholas and Koreans, but the lectures are also difficult.

From the perspective of computer expert @roleerob, I wonder what the level of lectures is.
Perhaps English-speaking person @roleerob understands the lectures more easily than me.

And, @valued-customer will be shocked by how many Koreans imitate Bill Gates.

Sort:

I am not shocked that many people think programming is something good to know, nor that they seek to emulate the very powerful.

While Bill Gates is a good programmer, it is not by his programming skills he has become so wealthy and powerful. It is by being deceptive and tricking people that he leveraged his programming skills into a global empire called Microsoft. Surely biographers have written his story for Koreans to read.

I am not the first, nor the only, person who has noted this about Bill Gates.

I think programming is very useful, and a good skill to have. I admire good programmers, and all skilled people that do good work. If you are interested in programming, and work hard to be good at it, I am sure you will succeed. If you do, I will be happy for you.

I do not admire deception, manipulation, or theft, so I do not admire Bill Gates.

Dear @valued-customer, you are right! Bill Gates is a great programmer, and many people are good at learning programming.
However, Koreans are increasingly imitating Bill Gates' tricks and hacking skills.

Currently, Koreans think that being a good programmer doesn't necessarily mean getting rich like Bill Gates.
Koreans envy and want Bill Gates' global empire, not programmers' skills.
Originally, humans learn evil faster than good.

Most young Koreans believe that programmers are only poor workers. So, more and more Koreans are imitating the tricks and hacking skills of Bill Gates you love.

I believe they will regret seeking to do harm. I hope humanity rejects the methods Bill Gates has used to become powerful, and seek to be beneficial to society instead.

Honorable senior, your wisdom is difficult for Americans and more difficult for Koreans. Only Jesus will save humans.
Thank you!

Remember that when the claims were made that Jesus produced miracles, he said that other men, ordinary mortal men, would do all those things, and greater things besides.

If your faith does not inspire you to act, it is of no benefit to you, nor others.

Jesus will not save you from yourself. You have to do that.

You will have to act to stop evil for good to prevail.

Act.

Agreed that people should always do what they can as opposed to being too passive.

If your faith does not inspire you to act, it is of no benefit to you, nor others.

Act.

Honorable senior, you are right! However, the current Korean government oppresses people's freedom of speech and press.

When evil men seek to do evil deeds, good people are hurt.

We must be good people anyway.

The focus of my comments in the past have been regarding details of writing posts. And the need to understand the technical details associated with this. In general, I would encourage you or anyone to reach whatever level of skill you can. Like any profession, the more you know and work at it, the better you become.

I took a computer lecture because I didn't understand the details of writing posts you told me and the technical details associated with this.
I didn't understand the jargons.

At a glance at the image you have provided, this is not any course in HTML, so it has nothing to do with our past conversations ...

I took the HTML lesson because I didn't understand the HTML terms you gave me.

Bottom line #1: There is nothing about the life of Bill Gates I wish to emulate.

Bottom line #2: Your post highlights the "ancient path" of man's determination to continue to create "false gods" and will ultimately suffer the consequences accordingly. As they always have. And as they always will. Just a reinforcement of the nature of the spiritual war our lives represent and how man is always going to lose, apart from his submission and surrender to the only power greater ...

Honorable senior, I agree with you even if I don't understand your English well.

Thank you!

Good morning🌄, my Korean friend. Up before the light of day and beginning it, starting with my latest dismay with translation issues somewhere, between us:

(1) "I'm taking a computer lecture by @roleerob's recommendation ..."

(2) "From the perspective of computer expert @roleerob ..."

As I have done a number of times in the past, I have no choice but do so again now. I never said the first and I have never claimed the second.

Giving you grace, I certainly believe you have honestly come to these conclusions based upon some misunderstanding(s) of whatever translation aide you are using, between my English and your Korean.

To address each, in attempting again to help you overcome them:

  1. The focus of my comments in the past have been regarding details of writing posts. And the need to understand the technical details associated with this. In general, I would encourage you or anyone to reach whatever level of skill you can. Like any profession, the more you know and work at it, the better you become.

At a glance at the image you have provided, this is not any course in HTML, so it has nothing to do with our past conversations ...

  2. I have a considerable amount of knowledge about computers. I have made my living with them, in many respects for the last half of my career. So, very likely I know more about them than many. But an expert? I know enough to know who I would classify as an expert and would never make that claim about myself.

To the point of your post, I have very little to add to the comments of my countryman, @valued-customer. The power that Bill Gates has managed to accrue over his long life was only based, in the beginning, on having some coding skills. But absolutely not the source of his wealth, nor his power. I won't elaborate, but agree with @valued-customer that many books have been written by others on the topic.

Why so many books? You and I know (or should) the answer. Man admires those who have what they themselves do not. Jealousy, envy, and all manner of the "fundamentals" of our broken human nature follows this ...

Remember what Bill Gates said in a Ted Talk video in 2015?
