Hello steemians,
This morning started out well. I woke up with a smile to a bright day and the first song that came to my head was the former Nigerian anthem . Wow!! i could remember that sometime in 2014 precisely 1 October i was at the cinema in Calabar(mariana resort) to see the movie 1 October. The most interesting part was the anthem , i loved it and felt it contained a message for everyone. Personally i feel it's better than the current one thou and most Nigerian youths don't know it.
Here's the lyrics to the anthem:

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all, and proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.
Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour'd,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.
O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.
