Nigeria, my motherland, Nigeria
You sit majestically on the west of Africa
A proud mother, beautiful as shooting stars in the night skies
Nigeria, my homeland, Nigeria
Enriched with vast savanna
That spreads over the North like a bandanna
From the grasslands of Gombe to Jigawa
Nigeria, my land, my root, Nigeria
Let Yobe speak, and i will listen
Let her voice echo to the furthest distant
'The young shall grow', and indeed prosper
Nigeria, My birthplace, Nigeria
Blessed with a rich and productive Delta
Oil and gas, we moil the task
Of protecting our crude - unskilled, Stark
Nigeria, oh Nigeria
The east glows as shines from thousand embers
With Coal in their souls, they tan like polished topaz
Nigeria, my dear Country, Nigeria
I'm dazzled by the beauty of Abeokuta
The unshakeable love of the yorubas
So firm and solid like loyal rooters
Nigeria, oh Nigeria!
For the lingering melancholy of a once happy people
I percieve joy at the other end of the spectrum
