Being Judgemental: why be so quick to criticize?

In the animation, Ratatouille, Anton Ego said

"In many ways, the work of a critic is easy. We risk very little, yet enjoy a position over those who offer up their work and their selves to our judgment. We thrive on negative criticism, which is fun to write and to read. But the bitter truth we critics must face, is that in the grand scheme of things, the average piece of junk is probably more meaningful than our criticism designating it so." I love this quote. You know why? Many of us fall into this category of critics, even though we do not write to criticize.

His insight on the subject being discussed is applicable in our general lives. How many times have we wasted our time imagining or judging people's choices and outlook in life and how they choose to live their lives?

Like he quoted, it is very easy, infact the simplest thing to do is to criticize other people. To judge other people's life.

Care to know one truth about these judges, they wish the had what you have, their life is not half as good as yours. Most critics are done out of envy.

That lady who is a single mother and is successful, has gone through pains to raise her child while you whisper "harlot" every time she passes by.

That man has been struggling to make ends meet and is not lazy as you have been thinking...

That kid who never passed exams in class is not as dull as you think, he just got some other talents you have failed to see.

We live in a society where rooms are not given for mistakes. People expect you to be perfect.
How about asking before you judge?
How about offering advice and help other than criticize?
How about helping that others to build rather than bring down?

You never know where the shoe hurts until you wear them. Try put yourself in other's position, and see if you would do better.
Lets not be quick to judge other people. We are no better. We all have flaws, we all make mistakes.

So before you be the judge over someone else, make sure you have the courage to put your face out there if you have gone through the bridge they have crossed.

Judge not lest ye be judged... And yet we (especially myself) still instinctively judge others when meeting for the first time. It's not necessarily a malicious act, it's just ... human. For example, I already judged you before I was even done with the second paragraph of your post. BTW, the jury was in your favor

Thank you @tobispain. Whao, you did judge me.....lol. We all guilty of judging others. I do judge people to, but I am making a conscious effort not to judge other people. I hope I get there.
