In the world right now is the technology to put one persons face on another’s body through editing. The quality of these forgeries is incredible and almost indistinguishable from reality. Video in no longer infallible evidence, the possibility to make it seem like celebrities and political figures say and do whatever you want in a recorded way or blackmail people with videos that don’t really exist. But Andrew Murray, Professor of Law at the London School of Economics told The Sun how there are "many forms of legal recourse" available to celebrities targeted by these sex videos. The story begins back in December, when Motherboard revealed how a Reddit user called 'deepfakes' was face-swapping celebrity faces onto the bodies of porn performers – including Gal Gadot, Maisie Williams, and Taylor Swift. The user soon created his own Reddit sub-forum – also called 'deepfakes' – where he, and other users, posted their phoney celeb sex videos. Since then, another user called 'deepfakeapp' has created a downloadable app that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to produce face-swapped pornos with barely any effort.
