ODEX decentralized exchange coming soon
We recently published details about ODEX, a new decentralized exchange being built on Obyte. Once Autonomous Agents are released on the mainnet Obyte will have a lot more tokens, and ODEX will give people an easy way to trade them in an open, trustless environment.
ODEX will be such an important tool that we have delayed the release of AAs on the mainnet until it’s ready. We hope to release ODEX on testnet very soon and on the mainnet a little bit later.
Bosch Connectory landslide approval
To speed up the witnessing voting process we used the Obyte poll bot feature to ask for community feedback on having Bosch Connectory as one of the default witnesses. We had good community participation with the results as follows:
Yes: 31579.399416724 Gigabytes
No: 0.067818727 Gigabytes
That translates to way over 99% of votes in favor, so Bosch Connectory is now a witness. All the hubs started recommending this change to their connected wallet apps and today, nearly everyone has accepted the change.
Autonomous token swap service
A grant has been awarded to build an autonomous token swapping service on Obyte. Most crypto exchanges maintain an order book and facilitate matches between buyers and sellers. The plan is to build a decentralized Uniswap-like service, which will remove the need for an order book. See details of the grant, which was awarded to long time community member Fabien.
Richard Heart on The Obyte Podcast
Developer Tarmo interviewed well known crypto personality Richard Heart on The Obyte Podcast. It's an excellent, in-depth conversation between two people that understand cryptocurrency topics better than many. It's fair to say Richard is not quite as enthusiastic about Obyte as he used to be, but we are cautiously optimistic his enthusiasm will return, and he will be warmly welcomed back on the podcast anytime. The interview is long, but you can speed it up to listen to it faster.

Trustless peer-to-peer betting with prices
Thanks to Obbies Chris and Ricky that recorded this excellent short video on how to use Obyte to make trustless peer-to-peer bets, with no handshakes or bookmakers needed.
The video shows how to pair the wallet app with a friend’s app and then negotiate the conditions for Bitcoin price prediction in the chat before offering the final smart-contract. Similar bets can be made using other price oracles.
Developer?
The Obyte platform (written in familiar Node.js) is easy to develop for using simple yet powerful Lego-like building blocks of code. Learn more on the developer website or take the interactive developer quiz.
Would you love to see Obyte become a major platform in the crypto world?
Then please give this article some Steem love!
Thank you.
