Great to see the high numbers of diverse authors and communities supported through OCDB.

I wonder if it would be possible, without too much work, to do a comparison between the number of unique authors posting on Hive each month and the number of unique authors supported by OCDB each month. I'm guessing that something like 30% of all authors are supported by OCDB ... and that none of them are in the top reward earners ... 😳

There may be another report somewhere else, so apologies if I have missed it:
I would also be interested in what OCDB earns in curation each day/month and how that is distributed to delegators and at what rate of return.

Thank you so much 😍

There are a few authors we still support even if they earn decently on their own, but that's based on if they do more things for the hive ecosystem and most of the time we vote them with a 12h delay to make sure the posts don't get overrewards after our votes due to trending, etc. We initially had a chart for authors receiving our votes as well but since a majority of them were curation report accounts that reward curators, moderators of communities and many other initiatives it didn't make sense to showcase it in these reports.

The distribution is basically all curation rewards and other rewards it earns through reward.app or beneficiaries that go to ocdb minus a 15% fee which is one of the lowest around. For instance all accounts we're creating through hiveonboard for projects like @peakd and others have their posts set at a default beneficiary to give ocdb 1%, hiveonboard 1% and referrers 3%, which means that given enough active accounts who don't remove the default settings you can see that our returns to delegators could stack up quite a lot more than just curation returns.

In the end we're also planning to create our own token with its own unique focus which we're going to be airdropping to those who strengthened manual curation and all our other efforts by delegating to ocdb.

Thanks for coming back to me.

Interesting to learn about how the reward distribution for delegators is managed. It has come up a couple of times in discussions about where to delegate (tipu, curie, ocdb etc). So, it is essentially curation rewards with knobs on (beneficiary rewards, token drop etc) less 15% - sounds great :)

Yeah, there are definitely other projects that offer higher APR but in terms of the carefulness and thought placed onto the votes it's often quite lacking. Many choose to delegate to dlease for instance and are surprised that they can get 12%+ APR on their leases but fail to realize that those leasing are 90% of the time using it to vote-trade and farm the reward pool that way to make the leases affordable and profitable at the cost of everyone else using their votes properly.

Yes, I like the care that ocdb takes and all the add-ons (posh, onboarding etc) to grow the platform which is why I delegate to it. Moderate returns plus overall growth of Hive is a good deal.
