Online Jobs in Africa

in #onlinejobs6 years ago

The most common online jobs in Africa are writing gigs. You are bound to know someone or someone who knows someone who makes a living writing online. With the high rate of unemployment and the increasing cost of living, people need to find alternative ways of making a living and online is almost the only way to go.

However, not everyone was or is successful. The few who made it through have their stories to tell, and it was not easy. The fortunate ones are the ones who had someone genuine to guide them through the ropes. But there are not many genuine people out there, unfortunately.

If you have tried to get a job writing online in most African countries, you know it is a nightmare whether it is trying to land an account with these online platforms or even working for those with accounts on the said platforms. The reason why getting online jobs is an issue in Africa is that the majority of these platforms no longer or do not accept writers from the region either because they want people from specific nations or they have been disappointed with the few workers they had from the region for whatever reason.

So if you cannot find a platform that accepts African writers what do you do? Apply for work from those who started the craft a long time ago and have accounts. There is just one huge flaw with this. Most of the established writers rip off their writers’ big time. Some accept work from writers then tell them that the work got rejected yet they submitted and got paid for it. Others pay their writers about a third or less the worth of the content.

When aspiring online writers figure these tricks out they get frustrated and give up. The established writers continue like nothing happened as there will always be more people to rip off and if they ever do run out, they are still good at their craft and have accounts so they will never miss a payday. Not everyone is like this however but the good ones are hard to find and if you do find them, you will find that they already have a pool of reliable writers that they treat well and would not be easily replaced.

It is for this reason that I write articles on online jobs that are applicable to Africans and everyone else who has a hard time getting round such jobs to help them earn money. Through the articles, they get to discover the other ways they can make money online other than through writing and the safe platforms to work on.
