Gulf's first two zones for offshore wind farms selected off Louisiana, Texas

The two areas have the potential to generate enough power for almost 3 million homes, according to BOEM. That’s enough electricity for the combined populations of Houston, New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

Interesting article about how Louisiana is moving into the offshore wind farm market with leases in the Gulf of Mexico. I hope this works out, not sure that the technology is there yet, especially when you account for all the metals that need to be dug out of the ground to make all this work, but if it all goes to plan it would be better than drilling for oil in the wetlands of Louisiana. Just my two cents on the topic, subject to change as the data comes in.....
