After 1 month of painting landscapes, I wanted to paint something figurative for practice. This is my first master copy of an illustration painting by the famous American Illustrator J.C.Leyendecker.
Leyendecker was well known for his 'Evening Post' Illustration painting commissions. His style is unique and recognised all around the world.
I liked the pose, clothing and brush work of this painting. The figure has a sharp graphic shape/series of shapes which I also liked.
