Making soap is an easy skill to learn.
But why should you make your own soap?
Making your own soap can benefit you in lessening the chemicals you use on your skin. Since you are in control of the ingredients that you put in your soap.
Therefore, if you have sensitive skin, or just wish to not use harsh chemicals on your skin, you are welcomed to use this tutorial to your advantage.
Ingredients:
- Pure Glycerin Soap Base (can be found at crafts store or online stores)
- Vitamin E (good for skin)
- Essential oils (of your choice)
Optional: Coloured mica minerals, oats, coffee grounds, etc.
How To:
- Chop up your soap base into cubes. Melt the cubes into liquid.
- Quickly mix in your vitamin E and essential oils. I use 1 tablespoon of Vitamin E and about 4 drops of Lavender essential oils. These are not fixed measures. It is up to you.
- Pour them into moulds. I used several silicon moulds that I borrowed from a friend.
- Air them at room temperature to cool and harden. Usually two to three hours is enough.
One of my finished soap.
This guide is not a fixed guide. You may add your creativity into this guide. For example, if you wish to create a scrub soap, then coffee or oats can be added into the mix.
Have fun!
