Promo shots for Ducati Chiang Mai on the new Ducati Desert Sled 2019.
On this ride, as someone who isn't confident on dirt in the first place, let me tell you, when a huge thunderstorm hit, bringing with it a deluge of rain, I was so really far out my comfort zone.
Add to the fact that the bike was too high for me (I was on tip-toes) and heavier than I'm used to, the combo made my balance difficult..mainly when stopping and starting and slow manoeuvring.
This kind of ride is not a big deal for many, but for me it required testing my mettle somewhat. I had to put my concerns away and just deal with it.
So, instead i diverted my attention whilst the rain hammered down. I spotted a lychee tree down the bottom of a hilly area, so went down to gather some, hoping not to end up sliding on my bum getting down. 🤣
Returned to the group soaking wet, but with a nice big juicy bunch of lychees for all :D
Maybe one day I will conquer my fear of dirt to enjoy it fully, because instead the ride was 70% stressful..YET still amazing and fun!
Sometimes stressful times can still be fun ones! Plus riding the bikes back on the Chiang Dao road to Chiang Mai was fantastic! It's a great bike.

Great photos, @zedcm! I see you're always on some kind of adventure!
I seem to have chronic itchy feet..always need to be having some kind of adventure, even if close to home. Probably not a good thing really as I find it hard to settle...but well, maybe will give me good memories in my old age.
