@mountainjewel has a contest going right now that YOU should know about. They are offering three SP DELEGATIONS for the Month of December. They'll be away on a silent meditation retreat! I am going to miss them because 10 days without @mountainjewel seems like an ETERNITY! That said, I recognize what a profound opportunity for self discovery and growth this will be and I know they are going to share some of what they learn. You can learn more about this contest here.
I've decided to put my name in the hat because I LOVE upvoting, it's like spreading love. My lack of SP often cramps my style. Having a bit more voting weight would make my evening reading through steemit posts so much more enjoyable.
I would put the extra steem power to good use because I LOVE clicking the upvote button after reading something GREAT! The only problem is that my vote is so tiny and I run out of voting juice so quickly! I love supporting my treasured groups (@naturalmedicine, @ecotrain but I also enjoy being able to manually upvote. There is so much great content that just doesn't get the boost it deserves. With that bit more voting juice, I would make sure I am spreading the love far and wide, honouring the gift and responsibility entrusted to me.
I try to post every single day. I do upvote and comment frequently even when I don't post. I don't really keep track, have a system or pattern that I am aware of. I just follow my heart and go with the flow.
I used to post every single day. It's not quite as frequent lately but for good reason (I think). I also think in general I am a participator and good sport. There's a lot of effort that goes into building engagement and I'll step up to support that effort as much as I possibly can.
This happened because of @mountanjewel's yesteryear contest
This happened because of @fishyculture and her tin foil hatter call to action
And I became a portal jumper as a result of @naturalmedicine's contest
When we thought we had recorded an entire video on how to make mayonnaise from scratch and ended up with just this still of me scratching my nose. I never did get that video made.
My writing is not always daily anymore because ...
I've been challenging myself when it comes to writing and blogging, upping my game so to speak. I've been doing more research, listing references and tuning and tweaking my writing. Often it takes me 8+ hours of (writing, research, cooking, creating, photography, and so on) to get one post completed and that's when everything goes right. A recent post 'How To Make Flavoured Sugar (With Recipes)' would probably equate to 16 hours of billable hours (ha! If only!)
Sometimes I have to go back to the drawing board because the images are wrong, the flavours are wrong ... or it just completely flops. I've challenged myself to push harder and writer better, crate something special, so that's what I am working on. It's all about continually challenging ourselves and growing.
That said, not all of my work is going to be like this!!
once in a while I will just spew out something that's in my head that I just need to get out. These unstructured posts can reveal a lot about the "real me" behind the blog. The shy, geeky, all about love, super tall, long legged, clumsy, green eyed, tree hugging, free bird, that seeks to connect with others on a deeper level than what has become insta-possible these days. These rough posts are the "me" that you'd meet in person. I think.
I think I've gone off track a bit! :)
My point is, I have pretty high standards (I think) and look for quality posts, that show that time, effort and heart has been invested in creating them. I want to learn something new. Feel deep emotions. Be drawn into the story. Witness something cool happening. I would love a little bit more juice to boost people up and encourage them to keep working hard and contributing meaningful content.

confession: I've had a few glasses of bourbon this evening. It seems that I my goofiness takes front stage when I am less inhibited. So glad that I made you laugh - that makes me so happy! :)
You are one of the best bloggers here. You are precise and articulate and funny. You support your work with all you have, from wider research to incredible photos full stop every single post you write is just a pleasure to read and I absolutely love you being here. You would be such a worthy recipient recipient of this delegation.
Well I would really love to see a video of you, it's very funny that it just ended up on with you scratching your nose.
I think the first time I met you I was amazed at your incredible kitchen. I haven't stopped being amazed at you and I am so glad I have got to know you here as well, and found that we have so many things in common. Love you lots.

you are TOO kind but I do appreciate how supportive you've always been. I love discovering all of these parallels we've got going on. It makes me feel so connected and I treasure you so much.
I just can't seem to make videos work. I am not sure if you know this but I don't use a cell phone anymore and I run on open source software and I have a horrible internet connection. It's a challenge and I hope to figure it out at some point.
I love you friend xx
Your posts were always so beautifully composed as were the photos, I wondered how you did them and got much done on the homestead. Now I know. :))
I can relate to doing research and getting the photos and info right. One post I did on Revitalizing the 10 Acre Piece I think I had 5 days into.
I look forward to each of your posts, even if they are about coffee liqueur (ewwww!) LOL
And I really love the scratch the nose photo. :))
haha - you don't like coffee liqueur? How come? I really love coffee. It's an illness I think.
Thanks for the kind words. I really adore your posts as well @goldenoakfarms. I am constantly learning and seeing new things through all that you share.
I distinctly remember (one of the few childhood memories left to me by my trusty "friend" Lyme) tasting my mother's iced coffee one summer day. She drank, and still does drink, LOTS of coffee every day. It was the most disgusting thing!
I really can't stand the flavor, or mocha flavor either. Not ever been on good terms with caffeine. Right now I am having a love/hate thing with my 1 cup of regular tea. I started drinking it once a day (was an every now and again thing before) back when I was so exhausted in the fall. Now I have to deal with the headache if I don't have it in time. Sigh...
oh that caffeine addiction is a real thing forsure. I get headaches and a cloudy mind when I quit drinking it. I only have one a day as a rule (a generous mug of course) but when we fast, the coffee withdrawal is the worst part of the whole experience for me.
yes you so deserve this, your posts are always so creative and inspiring and of awesome quality, you have my 100% vote for this xxxxx
😁💖
Good luck, you definitely deserve it!
