The Story
It was a 2013 trip with my wife. Vacation only, but our first time to Aruba. To my surprise, Aruba has a very arid climate covered with scrag, rock, and more cactus than I ever realized. On a drive to Arashi Beach, we continued on to the northwest tip of the island and ran into a cactus covered area with a lighthouse. The lighthouse is named California Lighthouse after a nearby wrecked steamship with the same name back in 1891. Adjacent to the lighthouse is a restaurant and the now famous California Sand Dunes, which I'll get into at some point about a really fun sand desert sailing adventure. This photo was taken with all that I had at the time, an iPhone 5.

Nice shoot!
Thank you!
Great capture - I love the lighthouse through the cactus. I also had no clue Aruba was so arid. I've always wanted to go there.
It's a beautiful place to visit. I've been twice and wouldn't hesitate to go back again.
