So I've noticed alot of people talking about their love for editing photos. Now I'm no professional but I do thoroughly enjoy editing my photos and thought I'd share my two cents...
MAKE A COPY. Yes some devices, edit and save a copy but there's that risk you take of editing the original and it saves... You should never edit the original photo. Ideally, Leaving the original photo alone allows you to use it again at a later time to try out different edits.
LESS IS MORE! Making too many changes to a photo can leave it looking unnatural. The picture also loses important details if you edit them too much.
IMPROVE YOUR IMAGE QUALITY
It’s rare to capture moments exactly how they look. With a bit of photo editing, you recapture things as they were and even make them look better. Using just the basics of photo editing, you can bring life to colorless, dull and dim photos. Adjusting the brightness or shadows or increasing the saturation can change the whole mood of your picture. Again, don't overdo this or you could ruin your picture! The important thing to remember is that you should set each option so that it is well balanced to keep a natural look!
CROP DON'T FLOP
Cutting allows you to make images smaller and place your photo into focus, as well as remove unwanted objects. If your picture looks blurry after doing this, you can scale it down. A general rule of thumb, don't over crop your pictures. No.. leaving just a head in your picture with no neck does not look natural.
The best way to learn is to just play around and edit the photos. Alternatively, there's plenty of tutorials and videos out there!
