Last night on the 31st of October here in Australia was of coarse the mainly American tradition of Halloween.! Although Australians don't officially celebrate Halloween,
There is a growing support for the adoption of what I believe is an awesome specticle, and one that I believe all kids should be able to experience. I mean what kid dosen't love a bag full of candy/lollies?
So I decided that my kids would get in the spirit and go trick or treating for their first time.
My sister had told me that some friends of hers had organised their street to participate in the occassion, so I dressed up my boys and took them along.
Going in not expecting a great deal,
I was pleasently surprised by the effort put in by the residents of the street.! The kids all had a ball, and ended up with a big bag full of sweet treats.
After we covered the entire street that was participating, we decided to check out another street on the way home that I over heard some people mention as a good location.
And they were not kiding it was pretty cool.! They even had a haunted house set up in the front yard.! Great effort for a Australian home.
I would have to say that the night was much better than I had expected, and my kids and nephew and niece had a great time. Halloween is not a huge event in Australia but there is a movement to make it bigger. I think we should embrace it fully. What do you think Steemit community??
