A follow up to yesterday's post - "It snowed on the lake today"

in #photography6 years ago

Yesterday I posted some photographs of my walk through the woods and down to the lake in the snow. The snow quit falling sometime yesterday evening and we ended up with somewhere around three to four inches which is almost unheard of in this part of the country. So, I headed out kind of early this morning before the sun could start melting it and really making a mess and took some more photographs in the woods, down by the lake and around the neighborhood in general.

Here is the neighbor's house and their horse who was out grazing in the snow.

I got his attention right here. I'm sure he didn't know quite want to think since I was really bundled up and probably did not look quite human to him.

This is Lake Tillery from the boat ramp down the way. I'm looking out on the main channel of the Pee Dee River which is the water way that was dammed to create Lake Tillery.

Another photograph across the lake but this time from Lake Shore Drive.

And a photograph of the neighbor's pier.

Here is a photograph of the Lake Tillery Monster. NOT! It's just an egret that hangs out on this part of the lake. I've been trying for some time to get a good photograph of him but he seems really shy and flew away right after this picture was taken.

And here is a view across the lake with Morrow Mountain off in the distance.

Here we are back in the woods.

You can see how heavy the snow is around here.

And now, I'm back home.

Thanks for your time and attention.

I don't know, that Lake Tillery Monster looks pretty legit to me. I sure as hell wouldn't swim in that lake.

That's some gorgeous scenery, though!

I wouldn't be swimming in it right now because it is cold. It was about 10-degrees this morning and I came south this year to have a warm winter for a change.
