Palermo city in Sicily was founded in ancient times as a Phoenician colony.

Palermo is the cultural, economic and tourist capital of Sicily. This is the main Sicilian industrial and commercial center. The main branches of the economy are tourism, services, trade and agriculture. Palermo currently has an international airport.

Palermo Cathedral (Cattedrale di Palermo) - architectural complex in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. Built on the orders of Archbishop Palermo Gualtierro Offamilio in the years 1069 - 1190. It is characterized by the presence of various styles, due to the long history of additions, changes and renovation works, the last of which took place in the 18th century. The cathedral is located on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, on the corner of Via Matteo Bonello.

The cathedral is buried among others emperor Frederick II Hohenstauf.

Quattro Canti, officially Piazza Vigliena - a square in Palermo, built in the baroque style in the years 1618–1620 according to the design of Giulia Lasso, on the order of the Spanish viceroy Juan Fernandez Pacheco de Villena y Ascalon and from his name was officially named Piazza Vigliena, located in the historical city ​​center.

The square is located at the intersection of the main Palermite streets: via Maqueda and Cassaro (Corso Vittorio Emmanuele), at the intersection of four historic districts of the city.
