Beach Waves

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

We recently went to Noarlunga Beach while the weather was still warm. It's about a one and a half hour drive and my sister needed her driving hours so we went. When we got there we sat down and ate before heading into the water. It was extremely rocky in the water, so I didn't go in far, however, my sister had brought her body board so she rode the waves in while I took photos. I ended up going into the shallow water and as the waves were quite big. I tried to capture them closeup. I knelt down getting a good view of the wave closeup before hopping up so I didn't get drenched by it. It seemed like a fun thing to do in itself, but doing it when your mum's watching you and not knowing what you were doing was quite funny. I didn't stay in the water long as when the waves crashed down it sent rocks flying at your ankles, but I quite enjoyed the chance to get photos.

My sister with her body board.

Sunset as she swims out.

A closeup wave before having to dodge it! Can you see all the rocks in the water?

Some sea foam I was almost laying on the ground for this photo.

I love the silhouettes in this one!

So; waterproof camera or just living dangerously?

It's splash proof so in the middle.

I love noarlunga. You captured it in a new way for me. I always picture it in the middle of summer in bright light. Thanks for giving me a little piece of home to think of.
