Very cool, hope that pic was with telephoto and not smartphone!
Where in Colorado was this pic?
We had one in our yard last year in Franktown, but pic not near as good.

On the path behind my home, he was initially about six feet in front of me then moved about fifteen feet away and stood for me several times. He seemed very calm as he looked at me so I took the shots as my heart rate increased between each shot. Not knowing if we would be face to face after the shot. Sangre De Cristo Mountains Crestone, Colorado.
Yikes, 6 feet is a little too close!
Thanks for posting, that's a beautiful area and great shot.
Yes and the funny thing is two weeks before there was a young bear in the kitchen 4 o'clock in the morning. Sitting in front of the cupboard head hidden by a drawer because it was so small as it was sitting and eating sugar. Unfortunately, it looked like it had lost it's mother and was on it's own. It was not a good year for bears in Colorado.
Apparently has been a good year for raccoons though. I've had to clear eight of them out that kept getting into our back porch thru a cat door and getting into our pantry.
Quite crafty and persistent they were.
