The development of New York City's Upper West Side in West Side areas is going as planned.
New York City is experiencing an unprecedented amount of new development. The west side has been a source of major development for The Last 5 Years spurred by the boom of building during the Bloomberg Administration. Now it's continued under de Blasio current mayor of New York City. The boom has created a large economic impact and has made many rich people much richer, however, there is a huge glut of poverty still in New York City. Housing is almost more expensive than it's ever been before and many people can't afford decent housing. As a trend continues in the US, the wealth gap between rich and poor is increasing at an alarming rate. Then result of this building boom is a glittering City that hides the poor and struggling New Yorkers who do much of the menial tasks of the city such as Day Labor, Service workers, construction workers
