Recently I had the opportunity to fly on a special flight from Perth, Western Australia. The flight was 11 hours long, it headed south towards Antarctica below Tasmania and New Zealand, followed the Aurora Australis (Southern Lights) and then eventually landed back in Perth.
The cabin crew blacked out the cabin as much as they could, reducing reflections on the windows so we could see the Aurora better and take photos.
Sony Australia was very generous and loaned me 2 x Sony A7Siii, a Sony 12-24mm f/2.8 and the Sony 24mm f/1.4.
Most of these photos were taken with the 24mm lens.
I was pretty impressed with the photos as it was a very quiet night in terms of aurora activity, only at KP0 for most of the flight.

What a beautiful site, I had the pleasure of watching the Aurora Borealis from a flight back to the UK from Canada, it was breathtaking, but these shots looks like the sky was very very active, I'd love to see Aurora Australis one day, then I can say I have seen both.
Oh wow! These are amazing photos! It has been a dream of mine to see either the Northern or Southern Lights, one day..
