In October this year our daughter decided to elope with her fiancé and get married on the rocks at the Freycinet Peninsula on the east coast of Tasmania. We were allowed to tag along as witnesses and as I have a camera, I was delegated to take the photos.
We decided to make a week of it as we had not been to Tasmania for 40 years and were wondering how much it had changed.
The ferry ride was preferable as I could take my own car and load it with more stuff for our holiday. The fare was cheaper than flying and hiring a car for the week.
Tasmania was as quiet and as beautiful as I remembered it. Our travels were mainly in the north and central parts of the state with stays at Wynyard, Queenstown, Longford, Freycinet Peninsula and Deloraine.
If one wants a peaceful holiday with plenty of magnificent scenery; Tasmania should be high on your wish list.
