Wildflower Season Has Arrived/La temporada de flores silvestres ha llegado

in #photographylast year (edited)

It is wildflower season after some rain and warmer weather. The above flower is very small, but thanks to a macro-lens, we can enjoy more of its essence. I look forward to taking photographs of these gems every year. They never cease to amaze me.

Since my last publication, I have taken a significant step toward retirement. I am working on moving out one of the disabled ladies but keeping the other person longer. I aim to move her out by June or July at the latest. The one I will have move out is a lot of work. She has cancer and was supposed to have died around 1.5 years ago. It is getting to the point where she needs more care than I can provide in the home. I do not have an issue with working with someone who is in the process of dying. I have cared for another lady who died five years ago. Plus, I was with my wife when she passed, holding my hand on her chest until her last heartbeat.

He cuidado a otra señora que murió hace cinco años.

My wife and I have cared for the disabled in our home for at least 30 years, and I have worked with the sick and/or disabled for over 50 years. To be honest, I am tired. I know dealing with the after-effects of COVID, and the passing of my wife so recently has left me tired. My health is improving, thankfully, and I am getting some good aerobic exercise daily. I have decided to take care of myself and put myself first. That is alien to me, but I am adjusting to the idea.

He decidido cuidarme y ponerme en primer lugar.

My wife and I made plans for our retirement. Much involved working in our wood-shop. When she was feeling well, she loved painting. She was working on a type of painting involving acrylics. I have been buying tools and equipment for my wood-shop and will return to building small crafts and other projects. Some of my power equipment has never been used. I will also get more involved with my photography. There are many other things for me to do. I have been limited with time to do most of those things.

I will share with you the progress I am making as I retire. Full retirement may take a while, but I will at least reduce the workload and stress.

I am going to share with you photographs of some more wildflowers. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

The following photograph is of the same wildflower as above but with a little different view.

The following two photographs are of a wildflower that is the first to bloom in the spring. Most of these wildflowers grew on land I gifted to my daughter. I was concerned that when they cleared a space for their house, I would lose the wildflowers. But there are still plenty of them, and my daughter and son-in-law will leave the areas they grow to maintain their natural habitat.

All of these wildflowers are small. Some are smaller than others. I can see details that I might otherwise miss without my macro-lens. The following two photographs show some wonderful pink and yellow that are difficult to see without the lens.

This brings us to the end of this publication. I trust you will find something in it that you enjoy. I am not going to set a schedule for publishing content. It will take time to move things to semi-retire by this summer and longer to retire fully. But I hope to continue publishing here on Hive. Thank you.

Gracias.

You are a philanthropist Sir, the good deeds will remain forever. You have a strong positive balance of karma. At this age, the kind of dedication you have demonstrated is unparallel.

With regard to flowers, I am always close to both purple and yellow. But I would say in this blog, the purple shot stands out. Thank you so much for the wonderful memories.

Thank you very much.

Wow you're a multitalented person. I like your spirit. Right now I'm research of how to make my own ecological paint, I love to paint, I love small wild flowers and I'm so happy that your daughter decided to keep it and it environment. That's so thoughtful. I'm a photographer as well and it's feels good to see that you use a rebel camera like me💕

Thank you very much

You have planned your retirement well, your wife will definitely be very happy to see you at this time, and also I really like to see the beautiful flowers you share, it looks very amazing

Thank you. I plan to visit some botanical gardens this summer to take lots of photographs. I can grow just so many flowers, so will rely on places where I will have plenty of choices.

That sounds fun, and I'll certainly look forward to the beauty of those flowers later

I hope you find all these strength you need to keep pushing. It is very important to put yourself first. Even though you are taking care of people, don't stop looking after yourself. Well done

These flowers are beautiful too.

Thank you. I took the first step today of having the one lady move. Her caseworker is taking the initiative. I feel relieved. It will not be easy because she has been with us for 24 years, but her level of care needs has changed. Not to mention I know I cannot hold up to that level of care. They have a place for those with cancer where she will get better care than I can offer. I can also visit her.

Beautiful flowers, welcome back fully to blogging

Thank you.

Namaste 🙏 @r2cornell , you shared beautiful flowers.
sir you are doing admireable work towards a cancer patient❤️. Hope your all dream will fullfilled. Sorry to listen about your wife. At last you are doing marvelous job , wish you a happy retirement in advance and wish you a happy journey with hive blogging.

Namaste! Thank you. I have done all I can for the lady with cancer. Today I spoke with her caseworker, and she will try and move things forward quickly. I think it is evident how tired I am. In 2018 my wife was in a rehabilitation hospital for over three weeks due to early-stage kidney failure. My wife got past that issue, but when she came home, I became her care provider along with three disabled ladies. One of those ladies was dying of congestive heart failure. I had to close my private counseling practice down (which was good for me). By the time that lady passed away, I was extremely exhausted. I am not yet to that point and do not want to. So now that things are moving forward with moving this person to a place with better care, I feel a great emotional sense of relief.

Namaste 🙏 @r2cornell , Sir you are such a kind heart person, It's very dificult to manage such situation, where you are dealing with a patient which having non curable illness. Salute your emotional sense and care💓. !PIZZA

Reading of your 50 years of service to the disabled leaves me in absolute awe. There are no words that can express the extent of the impact you've made on people's lives throughout your time, and you are a prime example of someone who brings absolute value to those around you. The world is a better place for having you here. However, the world would also want you to take care of yourself, and it's great that you've started to do so gradually. Don't let your time be spent on things that are more arduous than you can handle; enjoy what time you have here. You've already given so much - YOU time is here. You've more than earned it. 😊

Thank you for your kind words. I had not realized how long I have spent working with the disabled until my wife passed. It is three months today. I have spent time contemplating the 36 years I was privileged to spend with her. Things were not always perfect but we worked through issues. It also came clear that 30 of the 36 years together, we were caring for the disabled in our home. Her health at the time was in the early stages of deteriorating. After we married, she started working with the disabled through my company and a non-profit company. It was her idea of taking people into our home. She was a loving person and cared for people and animals alike. Before I took over the care in 2018, she struggled to keep doing it, and I had to start helping a lot besides my own work.

Since her passing, I also have pondered on what our married life would have been like if we had not taken this path. I have no idea what it would have been like. I do try to imagine it. Doing what we did seemed right. It felt right. My wife was a beautiful woman physically, but more importantly, her inner self had great beauty. I recall in the months prior to her passing, she was upset about how worn out I was getting. I believe from where she is at, she is 100% supportive of what I am now doing. That gives me solace.

Forgive my ramblings. Sometimes I start writing and it keeps flowing out.

@r2cornell...

Ramble away! It serves no purpose, keeping everything inside. You should already know... sometimes, when you're holding all those dear souls up... you still need those you've brought along, to help lift you up...

Everyone needs to re-ground themselves sometimes!

It sounds like she also had quite a positive influence on the lives of other people. You should take solace in the fact that you're still going after your personal goals at this stage... indeed, you know your wife's wishes best, not to mention your own!

And no need to ask for forgiveness. The words you choose to write come from a place of experience and wisdom. Someone who chooses to read them may gather value and learn from you. Additionally, as I've come to realize from personal experience, writing out your thoughts can be a great way to process and digest information, as well as to reflect upon oneself. Please harbor no regrets for doing so!

I missed your pictures. My condolences Mr Cornell, I am so sorry for your loss, God give you comfort and strength. I wish you God's health and blessings.

Thank you very much.

Those are really amazing flower. And also first one's color so beautiful.

Thank you very much. I am glad you enjoyed.

You already have spring. Wildflowers are always pleasing to the eye, they are the first to appear after winter and thanks to this they bring joy to the soul.. Thank you for sharing

Thank you, and you are welcome.

Thank you my friend for sharing your photos with us, let's hope your retirement hasn't arrived yet and you can continue here for a long time. Greetings and happy day

Thanks. Retirement means I will have the time to be here more.

Sometimes we can always be entertained by everything in nature, including the wild flowers that you show, sir.
It's something beautiful at a time when nature shows us after rain and summer.
It has been almost a month where we haven't rained, the grass has dried up and died and even the flowers in the garden have all withered with the very hot weather, and also the well water has almost dried up.

This pretty, tiny wildflower shot looks impressive using macros.

Thank you.

OMG! What a lovely shots these are. Undoubtedly, all of these are great shots by you. Keep capturing such wild flowers.

Thank you. It felt good to get the camera out and find flowers to photograph.

I am happy to see that you are fully back to blogging.
The flowers are beautiful ❤️

Thank you. I am going to try and keep it up. When I semi-retire, i will have a lot more time.

More grace to you sir 🙏👏🙏

Wow. Very enchanting flower photography that you share today, I am very entertained to see. send regards for success

Thank you.

friend, there are opportunities where before helping other people we must take into account what we need ourselves and then yes, collaborating with others is a pleasure to have them with us more often

Thank you

He cuidado a otra señora que murió hace cinco años.

I like everything about this post.

I have decided to take care of myself and put myself first. That is alien to me, but I am adjusting to the idea.

A lot of us feel this way this days. But your positive and active approach, doing exercises to improved your life it's remarkable. You're remarkable. With such a recent lost and that job.. I'm blown away. I'm aware that people like you guys, taking care of dying people must exist is like, somebody has to do it right? But God I'm not that strong or put together. I'm really enjoying this blog. I'm new about blogging and I have no idea that could be such a warm concept.

Thank you very much. I tend to be open about who I am and my life experience. Some users struggle with what they write about. I find it natural to just be myself. When working as a counselor I found being open with about myself helped my clients open up.
