ASRUDDIN (40) looked relieved after his kite was swiftly rolling into the air. Her hands relaxed stretching the rope from the reel so that the kite continues to climb to the sky, in the rice fields Gampong Curieh, District Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh. Soon his face turned anxious, as the kite suddenly turned. He kept trying to shift the position of the kite that began to strike the threads of other kites to avoid breaking. "Quick tug," Asruddin shouted to his friend to help control the kite. Shit, soon the kite was broken and floated just unfocused. "There is no sustenance, fall this time," continued the participants from Darussalam, Banda Aceh. Asruddin is one of 300 participants of Geulayang Tunang aka kite competition held by Banda Aceh City Government in enlivening the city's 809th anniversary in Curieh, Sunday, May 11, 2014. Hundreds of residents attended this cultural show. The excitement and audience applause accompanied the colorful kites that graced the Gampong Curieh sky that afternoon. Asruddin had failed to finish the race because his kite was cut off. Five other kites from the kampong also fared the same. "From our village there are six kites that participate, everything has broken up. Fail this time, "he said. However, unlike Heri, other Geulayang Tunang participants. Jufri said the Geulayang Tunang participants were given 15 minutes each to raise and, stretching the rope from the reel to fly freely. The next 15 minutes are given when the kite is already in the maximum position in the sky, the participant must control the kite just above the head. The stand position of the participants must also be on the line that has been determined by the committee, if it is beyond that it is not counted once successfully put a kite overhead. So the race is fair and open, although there is a judge who judges but the audience can also see the judge's judgment directly, "said Jufri.
