Introduction

An ongoing scientific study to detect ancient ports and settlements on the western and southern coasts of Aceh is on the banks of the Indian ocean. The western and southern coastal regions of Aceh are a place that is always visited by European nations, an area that is preoccupied with the spice trade of plantation products during the period of Aceh Darussalam kingdom in the middle ages.

The 4-member team is @keuudeip as the lead researcher, @vannour as a photographer, and two research assistants @safar01 and @abelpasai. The present study is a preliminary survey to detect the potential to determine the point in subsequent research.

Narratives and scientific studies are done by @keuudeip, while I only upload photos to the public, especially on Facebook Group MAPESA ( @mapesa ) "MASYARAKAT PEDULI SEJARAH ACEH (Aceh Historical Concern Society)". All photographs in the course of scientific research sponsored by @mapesa are free license for the benefit of science.

A piece of the triumphal epoch of Trumon

Before entering Trumon^{[google map]}, South Aceh Regency, area from Banda Aceh direction, we are on a steep declining road position. From there, spotted a beautiful expanse of Tromon valley. The triumph aura in the Middle Ages is still felt, Trumon's main commodity in the past is especially of pepper, which then traded to the Arab region, Europe and America through the ports on the west coast and south of Aceh during the kingdom of Aceh Darussalam.

Today, the local community has replaced it by planting oil palm, through the encouragement of the flagship program of the Indonesian government in Jakarta, but it has not been proven to prosper the community.

The Ancient Flag

In a quest to find traces of medieval period civilization on the western and southern coast of Aceh, we spent 2 days at Trumon. There we visited two main places that were targeted: Ancient Fortress and Ancient Cemetery Complex, we are guided directly by the descendants of the Bandar Trumon ruler, in the of the of Aceh Darussalam kingdom period.

We got a luncheon at the descendants house of the Bandar Trumon ruler. Then, in the evening we had the opportunity to see ancient flags that are still stored by generations of their families. After looking at it, various allegations arose. It can not be ascertained the owner of the flag.

• The gift of the Aceh Darussalam king to the ruler of Bandar Trumon as a power symbol.
• Flag used during the voyage of the Aceh Darussalam Kingdom.
• Flag belongs to the authority of the Bandar Trumon ruler.
• Or other possibilities, considering original form of the Aceh Darussalam kingdom flag has not been found.

I had previously posted the photos on Facebook Group Mapesa (LINK), to be a trending news in Aceh which was quoted by the biggest news media in Aceh, Serambi Indonesia (LINK). After posted on facebook on August 21, 2017, it has 48 shares and 312 like. On facebook the expedition team uses the #EkspedisiMuhammadGhauts tag.
