📷 Wertheim's Hidden Gems

Hello dear friends,

The term "hidden champions" is probably well known among equity investors. By analogy, today I would like to show you a few aspects of Wertheim am Main that don't immediately catch the eye. When you come to Wertheim am Main (river), your eyes will naturally be drawn first to the castle and then to the Spitzen Turm (Spiky Tower)gems and the picturesque banks of the Tauber. But there are other hidden gems. I have compiled a few of them here

unter Aktienanlegern dürfte der Bergriff "Hidden Champions" durchaus geläufig sein. In Analogie hierzu möchte ich Euch heute ein paar Seiten von Wertheim am Main zeigen, die nicht auf den ersten Blick ins Auge stechen. Wer nach Wertheim am Main kommt, wird seinen Blick natürlich zuerst auf die Burg und dann auf den Spitzen Turm und das malerische Tauberufer gelenkt sehen. Aber es gibt noch weitere verborgene schöne Seiten. Ein paar davon habe ich hier zusammengetragen.

In these pictures, you can see a listed building that should be familiar to all locals. This house was home to the Münz bistro (= bistro Coin ) when I was young. We just called it "Die Münz". This bistro wasn't my cup of tea, but I did go there a few times ;-)

Auf diesen Bildern seht ihr ein denkmalgeschütztes Haus, das allen Einheimischen bekannt sein dürfte. Denn in diesem Haus war zu meiner Jugendzeit das Bistro Münz angesiedelt. Wir nannten es nur "Die Münz". Dieses Bistro war zwar nicht mein Fall, aber ein paar mal bin doch dort versackt. ;-)

In this picture you can take a look under the railroad embankment at the Hotel Kette (= Hotel Chain). The Hotel Kette has been serving Greek cuisine for a long time. The location is beyond any doubt anyway.

Auf diesem Bild könnt ihr einen Blick unter dem Bahndamm hindurch auf das Hotel Kette werfen. Das Hotel Kette hat seit langem eine griechisch orientierte Küche. Die Lage ist sowieso über jeden Zweifel erhaben.

Not far from the railroad crossing, my offspring was still feeding swans in the autumn light just over 2 years ago.

Nicht weit davon hat mein Nachwuchs vor etwas mehr als 2 Jahren im Herbstlicht noch Schwäne gefüttert.

Wertheim am Main has many small medieval alleyways. Some of them are relatively winding. However, this is difficult to see from above..

Wertheim am Main hat viele kleine mittelalterliche Gassen. Teilweise sind diese auch relativ verwinkelt. Von oben sieht man dies aber nur schwerlich.

This house can be found directly behind the remains of the old city wall.

Dieses Haus findet man direkt hinter dem Rest der alten Stadtmauer.

This "witch's house" is opposite the town hall on the other bank of the Tauber. .

Dieses "Hexenhaus" ist gegenüber des Rathauses am anderen Ufer der Tauber.

These figures were created by an artist whose name I don't know off by heart. You can find the figures everywhere in Wertheim. But none of them is as big as the blue version in the photo. I hope you also enjoyed these pages from Wertheim. By the way, the cherry trees are in bloom right now. Isn't the pink beautiful? I love it when nature awakens...

Diese Figuren hat ein Künstler, dessen Namen ich nicht auswendig kenne, erstellt. Man findet die Figuren überall an in Wertheim. Aber keine ist so groß wie die blaube Version auf dem Foto. Ich hoffe, Euch haben auch diese Seiten von Wertheim gefallen. Gerade blühen übrigens die Kirschbäume. Ist das Rosa nicht wunderschön? Also ich liebe es, wenn die Natur erwacht...
