The @buynburn account uses the HIVE and HBD it earns on posts to buy and burn coins on #hive-engine.
For this project I need to occasionally write posts. So, last week I decided to buy and burn some #PIZZA.
PIZZA is a token produced by the PIZZA Guild. The guild owns the domain hive.pizza which offers a variety of dApps, delegation and swap tools. The guild runs both a HIVE Witness and HIVE-Engine Witness. The pool has been active in developing several games and features on HIVE.
HIVE Engine shows that there are 2,094,817 PIZZA in circulation. PIZZA trades at $0.00428. The token's marcap is $8,965. PIZZA has Diesel Pools with SWAP.HIVE, DEC, STARBITS, ONEUP, WOO and WOOALPHA.
Users with 20 staked PIZZA have access to the !PIZZA command. This command lets you send a PIZZA tip in the comment section of a post. Staking more PIZZA lets you call the command multiple times.
Comment rewards suffer the problem that buying incentive diminishes as users build up their tokens. To induce users to stake their PIZZA, the tribe offers 12% interest on staked coins.
The token has a two digit precision. This means that you need to have 30.5 staked PIZZA to get 0.01 PIZZA rewards a day.
Sadly a tribe offering 12% interest can't compete with the 20% interest on HBD. A person would have to be an idiot to invest in PIZZA.
My primary account @yintercept holds 2,770 PIZZA. It earns 0.91 in PIZZA rewards a day.
Since the price of the coin drops faster than the 12% interest, I've lost on the investments.
Since the price of HBD is guaranteed by HIVE, I don't know of any coin on HE that can compete with HBD. I guess this is why most HE coins crashed after we raised the interest on HBD.
I started writing this post last week. Several of the links on hive.pizza were broken. I also remember the site offering more features. I hope that the guild is thriving.
A Pizza Burn
I like burning comment rewards as comment rewards encourage engagement on this social network. I will burn 50 PIZZA on publishing this post and will keep pizza burns in the rotation. It is surprisingly difficult to buy PIZZA on the cheap as I am always outbid by bid bots.
The amount of coins I burn is determined by the upvotes that I get for this post.

Turns out I got plenty.
The comment tips are one of the most equitable features of HIVE. Unfortunately, it is hard for newbies to acquire the minimum 20 PIZZA. There are stupid bid bots that auto outbid users on HIVE-Engine.
But I do love the comment tips as the tips reward people for their interaction.
I guess it is possible for voting blocks and autoposts to get the rewards. So they aren't perfect.
Apparently 1500 PIZZA isn't enough to trigger the tip.
HE explorer shows that I received one tip that matches the time of the @yintercept reply. But there isn't one matching your reply.
One thing I dislike about HIVE is that the rules are often opaque.
The burning question is: why didn't the system give the tip?
Is there a limit to the tips a post can receive? Does the tip command have to be on the last line? Are you trapped in some sort of spaminator hell where the system won't deliver your tips because you violated spaminator's sensibilities in some past post. Is it because the tip command has to be capitalized?
I can't give you a PIZZA because I burned all of my PIZZA yesterday. I will try giving a HiveBit. The HBIT rewards are also strange. As I recall, one doesn't have to hold HBIT. One is not allowed to stack HBIT with other comment commands. It is possible that only the root author of a post can give HBIT. I will give it a try.
