Wow! You are really a very hands-on technical guy. Great job in fixing the battery problem. If it is under warranty, most people would be scared to open it up to fix it since they can get it fixed for free. Battery problem is really quite common for many rechargable product. Knowing how to solder give you the upperhand as I do face such problem but very often we cannot just take it out to change but the requirement of soldering is needed.
