Growing up as a young lad, there used to be a good number of fruit trees in many homes which makes the environment looks green, very attractive and not also forgetting the numerous benefits we gained from harvesting the fruits. When we closed from school then, we trekked a long distance to get to our various destinations. The thought of getting ripe fruits on our way home gave us something to cheer about not minding the long distances that we embarked on on almost daily basis except for weekends. Those days were really fun!

Every fruit has its season. This month, it could be the season of mango and the next could be that of orange, cherry, guava and so on. At that time, every land owners in Nigeria took it upon themselves as a priority to plant a fruit tree not just for the fruits alone, but also as a means of boundary demarcation.

Sadly, today these are no more. Deforestation is now the order of the day all in the name of land development. Every land owners now seal the floor of their yard with concrete or marble tiles and therefore not creating any space for plants to grow.

How Do We Retrace Our Step?

I think the only way out of this is to revisit the good old days when we practiced the green culture. Where every land owners were proud to have one or two fruit trees in their homes and those plants were valuable assets to them. With this, the youth of this generation will smile and know what it feels like to have fruit trees around them.

Wow!
Your beautiful post just make me to remember the good old days growing up...
I wonder if we can still found some of those fruit trees....
Thumbs up bro!

Thanks bro.... There is hope if we retrace our step.

This is perfect! I remembered living in a rural area for many months. I enjoyed the natural environment and I think it played a huge impact on my life today such that I vowed to be nature friendly.

It's a pain on my ass to see a beautiful house without any plant to nourish the atmosphere around the house.

You can't cheat nature, you can beat nature.

Well said bro. If only we imbibe the culture of planting trees again. When I was growing up, everyone was proud to call one or two fruit trees theirs. Sadly, that trend has abated and even eroded in places like the so called 'urban areas'.

Great job and cries for mother nature, i hope we heed to it

Wow! Still remembering the good old days. Nice one you've got there.

Thanks.. I will check this out..
