For those consistently getting ripped off after buying promises, no lessons are learned because it does not compute.

Once people notice things aren't adding up, which could take another five years at this rate, then maybe they'll stop buying promises, and go back to buying products, like people did for centuries.

By the looks of it here, those selling a promise used some of the money to buy another promise.

If one lights a match then touches the flame to another match, it doesn't explode and turn into a new box of matches. But hey, let's keep trying.
