Vitamin D is an essential nutrient discovered in 1937. Over the decades that followed, scientists learned of this vitamin's contribution to bone growth. Sometimes called the "sunshine" vitamin, your body produces Vitamin-D primarily following exposure to sunlight, but you can consume it from other foods. Vitamin D is essential in allowing your body to absorb calcium. Calcium is a nutrient critical to the formation and stability of strong bones.
Vitamin-D deficiency is prevalent around the world. One billion people suffer from this issue, though many may not even be aware of it. It's understandable as people may not experience complications from this deficiency until they are older.
Like anything else in life, we handle events by prioritizing them against others. Perhaps someone is too busy to realize they're working inside more often than outside.
There are, admittedly, distractions in our lives. Sometimes, if you're a child, a parent may direct your attention toward one thing to protect you from something else. Other times someone may attempt to misdirect you for more nefarious reasons. The possibility exists that you may even work to misdirect yourself so you can stay sane in this crazy world.
In the case of vitamin D deficiency, you're certainly more likely than not to fail and realize the problems from not taking all your vitamins. Extreme conditions of Vitamin-D could lead to other health problems, though unlikely in our day and age. After all, it's not like we grew up in darkness to suddenly see the light.

Approaching the Brink
Nineteen-year-old Kerstin arrived at the emergency room. Doctor's noted her ghost-white skin and her unresponsiveness. Her organs were failing rapidly. They did what they could to stabilize her, but their efforts appeared to be in vain. There was no way they could save her as they didn't know the cause of their ailments. Kerstin's medical conditions forced doctors to place her in a medically induced coma. She was going to die. The least the doctors could do for her was slow her progression toward death. Perhaps they could find a cure before she died. One question, however, lingered in the back of their minds:
The Cult
Elisabeth
Elisabeth was a troublesome child early on. She was argumentative, disobedient, and repeatedly attempted to run away. Each time, however, authorities located Elisabeth and returned her home. Her parents were fraught with worry about her behavior. How could such a beautiful young lady be so disruptive? What on Earth could they do to bring her back into the fold? Unfortunately, the family could not do much. She succeeded in escaping the family life and making a life of her own.
Josef
According to hospital staff, Kersten's doctors didn't know where her mother was, but her grandfather was in the lobby. He was the one who brought Kersten to the emergency room. When doctors approached Josef, the grandfather, about the location of Kersten's mom, Josef didn't have much to provide in terms of help. According to Joseph, Kersten had been under his care since she was a baby.
Josef reported that Elisabeth left their home when she was just eighteen. They didn't hear from her for years until, one day, someone knocked on the door. When Josef opened the door, he saw that someone had left a baby on his doorstep with a letter addressed to Josef and his wife. The letter was from Elisabeth.
The Cult
Elisabeth spent years away from home. She joined a religious group, found someone special, and eventually had a baby. However, the baby wasn't safe. It wasn't too long before her father suspected she had joined a cult. She couldn't care for the child and, in her desperation, left the child at the doorstep of her parent's home. Her newly born daughter, Kersten, would at least have a safe upbringing under protection. Elisabeth would then return to the shadows of her own life.
The Hospital
At Death's Door
Doctors, becoming desperate to identify the cause of Kersten's suffering, notified the police. Officials began a public search for the whereabouts of Elisabeth. Police became suspicious of this situation as a child, seemingly out of nowhere and with no record, appears at a hospital and is fighting for her life. Elisabeth appeared alongside her father when doctors began to run out of hope for this young girl's life.
People were astonished to see that the 42-year-old looked to be in her sixties. Her skin and hair were pale white. Doctors would later discover that they both suffered from extreme forms of Vitamin-D deficiency. When asked about what could have happened to make Kersten sick, Elisabeth began to tell them what occurred under the condition that she and her children would never have to see her father again. Investigators agreed.
House of Horrors
Elisabeth Fritzl was a troublesome child. She attempted to run away from her home multiple times. Any of us might if our father continuously and sexually assaulted us since the age of 11. You would rebel. You would fight back as you could. However, before she could break free, Joseph locked her in an underground bunker beneath the house. She wouldn't see the sun again for decades.
In this house of horrors, he would rape and torture his daughter. Over 20 years, she would bare seven of his children in captivity. One of them died at Joseph's hands when he was an infant. Joseph took three of them to be raised by Elisabeth's mother, Rosemarie. The other three remained without exposure to sunlight until Kersten became ill over a decade later.
The Tragedy
- Joseph Fritzl was a convicted rapist before any of his children were born. Police likely failed to do their due diligence when Rosemarie first reported Elisabeth's disappearance.
- Police believed Friztl when he reported that Elisabeth left three of her children to be cared for by Joseph over the years.
Hope for Humanity
The Austrian government has since granted Elisabeth and her children new and secret identities. They receive psychiatric care and will continue to do so for the rest of their lives. While they experience bouts of anxiety, depression, and anger, they have been healing since being released from their prisons.
Elisabeth and her mother, Rosemarie, had a tumultuous relationship following Elisabeth's release. While police ruled out her mother as a suspect, it has taken years for the pain to subside enough for Elisabeth to accept her mother again.
Elisabeth, having suffered so much during her life, is involved in a loving relationship. She is with someone who helps her overcome her pain and loves both her and the children in ways she could not have dreamed in her own life.

Nice work thank you very much for your continued posting here.
Thank you very much friend. I appreciate it.
You're very welcome and have an amazing day.
Very unfortunate that those who were meant to protect us becomes our tormentors sometimes.
It is a relive that Elisabeth and has children has found happiness at last. One can only imagine the kind of sorrow they have pass through.
The world is filled with monsters. In an interview, her father said that he was born to rape. He led a dual life. He was well respected in the community while he had a dungeon where he keeper a second family of incest.
He misdirected the world away from his house of horrors.
Too many monsters like this are everywhere in the world , may we never fall as their victims and may their kinds be expose for everyone to see.
You, as always, amaze with your creative rich imagination).. Very interesting phrase: "After all, it's not like we grew up in darkness to suddenly see the light", thank you.
Thank you very much for your compliment. I’ve trying to find a way to communicate subtly about the evils of this world. The more I dive into stories of true crime the more I realize that fiction can’t possibly hold a candle to reality. Fiction is an escape from the horrors of this world.

I had a very nice walk. I discovered a new short route that avoids trees and allows me to soak up lots of sun. It’s a short little route that involves a long safe neighborhood alleyway. Easy to walk slow and aimlessly why soaking up some sun juice. 😁
What a coincidence. I’m writing about a couple that went out for a walk on Valentines Day.
I’m still on night shift but that’s ending in a couple of days. I spent some good time out in the sun with the kids. It was awesome. I barely slept on this day off, but I felt I really needed it.
Here’s to walking out under sunshine and great weather.
cheers!

Freedom is everything, without freedom the whole thing would have no meaning.
Very good point. We should all be free, but we can’t be free to do whatever we want.
Is true, because that can also be a problem to the society, nicely said.
I was thinking of dropping my entry although I see that it has elapse the time frame, 🤗
