Please be yourself, don’t ever change
We love you just the way you are
Such is the beauty of a diverse exchange
Unique expression will get you far
Embrace your differences and don’t be afraid
We’re utterly flexible and worldly as they come
We despise the mundane, the ordinary, the clichéd
How can people be so narrow and blindly dumb?
Uniqueness is a blessing, embrace it with pride
Carry yourself tall and say as you feel
Well, not all that you feel, we must confide
Avoid talking about yourself- it has no appeal
It’s not a big ask, just a rule here and there
No harm in complying, just smile and nod your head
Also be conscious of what you choose to wear
Dress tastefully, blend in and don’t change the thread
Oh, and a few other things, how could we forget
Be courteous and soft spoken while sitting up straight
Eat like everyone else, too easy, no sweat
Don’t play with your food, you’re not a dog at a gate
Keep your enthusiasm at bay, it freaks people out
Only ordinary compliments, don’t be over the top
Be sure to sound intelligent and try not to shout
Oh, and always remember- know when to stop
Do whatever it takes to not let us judge
Impress those around you, sound just like them
Don’t take it personally, no need for a grudge
Just don’t give us any reason to condemn
You mustn’t digress from the flow, please try to blend in
Win them over and you shall be rewarded with rapport
Gather all your eccentricities and throw them into the bin
You’re one of us now, welcome back on shore
Now that you’re ordinary, let’s follow the stream
A social formula of predictability, a pure delight
Greetings plain Jane, you’re now a number in our team
We will laugh in synchronicity throughout the night
Just please remember to get it right
Do not deviate and be well behaved
From blue to grey, from red to brown
Stay classy- like us; don’t be a clown
Have loads of fun, just don’t be strange
Life’s too short to be oddly bizarre
Please be yourself, don’t ever change
We love you just the way you are.
