He breaks my heart nightly
When we talk in the dark.
He mostly listens…
And lets me ramble—
Deb doesn’t,
But she’s only human.
I know God
He makes me cry
With his silence
Some see Him as uncaring
But He isn’t,
You see, He’s God...
And He mostly listens.
I absolutely love this poem....I love that you talk about Deb and her humanity in contrast to God and His divinity. Please keep sharing!

yes, being silent is the best form of prayer. You might even hear God whispering :)

Poetry comes from the highest happiness or the deepest sorrow.
The poet is a liar who always speaks the truth.
