RE: The Old Dog Explains: A Fun And Easy Way to Track Your Crypto Portfolio!

in #porfolio8 years ago

hodlerfoliio looks to be an excellent open sourced tool. It serves its purpose well. Initially, I thought that I'd need to insert my coin info again and again as there was no login option there but fortunately this website takes care of it without any login requirement.

But inputting the exact coins we are holding is a pain in the arse. First, I don't remember the exact holding and second, holdings keep changing on a regular basis.

I use the following trick to overcome this problem. I don't know how safe it is but I've shared my api keys for all my exchanges with 3comma website. I don't use that website for trading but it instantly tells me about my total holding and my exchange-wise holding on my dashboard itself. I can also view my individual coin holdings on individual exchanges with price, %age of my portfolio, etc. So I don't need to log into different exchanges to check prices for my holdings.

You can share api keys from binance, bittrex, kucoin, bifinex & poloniex exchanges. It doesn't have an option for bitshares yet but I've a negligible holdings there. If you want to try it out, here's my referral link (they give $10 credit to sign up 😊):

BTW, I also find https://cryptagon.io/?i=KL0Y5C as an amazing project to achieve this objective. I love the graph it shows for my portfolio. It also makes it possible to create customized sub-portfolios. And I hope they are soon gonna launch a mobile app too plus an alert service for your coin movements would be a great feature for this website.

(Do take care to edit your API keys to Read Only before you share it with this website).

Thanks for the info and advice. You are very knowledgable.

Learning from people like you only. Otherwise I'd have always remain a stupid guy.

Haha not quite! I have much respect for you sir!

Sharing your api keys is perfectly safe as long as you set them up with only read permissions. This is the correct way to interface with exchanges and track your holdings. The manual route is a total waste of time.

Yeah, works great with most exchanges but I couldn't find any such options for Kucoin API keys. Any idea?
