A Long Road - Big Changes - Huge Blessings

For those of you who don't know me...

I started out writing on Steem. I posted everything from A-Z, just trying to find myself. A lot of you can probably relate.

It was an incredible experience - one that changed my life and the life of my EX-girlfriend.

I say EX because she is no longer my girlfriend - she is now my fiance. I asked her to marry me a couple of weeks ago and though we have yet to set a date, it's going to happen.

Let's rewind the tape a little while...

When I first started writing on Steem, I didn't have a computer. I was using my smartphone and it took me forever just to write a single post.

We didn't have power, we didn't have a home, and we were on the streets until we ended up obtaining a van. We lived out of that old, blue '95 Windstar for quite some time. Battling drug addiction and an old life full of, generally evil things.

There were ups-and-downs prior to that. Our relationship struggled greatly. There were moments when finances were incredibly good, but there were many long stretches devoid of any real good thing.

Even the brief times we had some money - it was bad money. Say what you will about karma, God, or the universe - but KNOW that everything comes at a price. For us, it wasn't a price we could keep paying, and thankfully we learned that.

We were toxic - plagued with spiritual poverty, relationship poverty, mental poverty, and financial poverty....

I've spent about three years of my life incarcerated. That's 10% of my lifespan, and in some ways, that was the good part - until now.

Through posting and engaging with some good friends in the Steem community (though it is now moved to Hive), a renewed relationship with God, and some serious work on myself, we have finally come out on the other side.

Today, we are over 7 months sober off of everything...

Today, I have a fiance. I have a very nice (though, dated) RV. I have the coolest job I could have imagined (working as a freelance writer).

One of my clients is having a contract written up based on my proposal of terms for a ghostwriting book contract (which will be my first project of this size). It actually pays.

Oh, I almost forgot!

A client that I am working with (copywriting & branding) who happens to own her own jewelry company has offered to provide our wedding bands as an engagement gift!

Pretty cool, huh?

Well, that's all I'll be sharing for now.

I just wanted to share and thank this community for all the love and support you have given me.

If you don't know me, now you know a little more about me.

Cheers!
