The Greatest Power

in #power7 years ago

I was reminded of something that I read in a post from @iamrosallie and @timspeer who replied to the blog. The blog that @iamrosallie wrote is a great piece of work and if you follow me, I did resteem the post in hopes that it will inspire others. The thought that I was reminded of while reading the post was, the greatest power we all have been born with is the power of choice. Choice is the biggest determining factor of our future. It is also a direct reflection of our past. Do we have the ability to change our future? Of course we do, hence the name of this blog.

There is a Native American tale of a grandfather and his grandson having a conversation about life. The grandfather spoke of the tale of the 2 wolves, the good wolf and the evil wolf. The grandfather had explained through the generations of the people, the wolves have always been present and care needs to be taken to control the outcome of life. The grandson had asked how to control the 2 wolves and between the two, who wins the battle? The wise grandfather explained, the wolf that wins is the one that gets fed the most. So when it comes to fear and the things you fear, are you feeding the fear (F.alse E.vidence A.ppearing R.eal) or are we feeding our positive thoughts and the things that elevate our inner being?

A few years ago, a mentor of mine had taught me, we really need to use the shopping cart method in everything. You know what the shopping cart method is right? I'll explain it for those that don't know. If you have ever shopped in a store for at least groceries, you don't take everything off the shelves and put them in the cart. You only take the things you need. In essence, that is how the power of choice works. Another example would be unforgiveness or forgiveness. It's a very tricky emotion. I call it an emotion because of the effect either one of them have on our inner being. Did you realize that unforgiveness works against you? Unforgiveness has been likened to drinking poison and expecting the other person to die from it. Forgiveness and Unforgiveness works both ways, personally and when thinking about others. If there are things you have done that you know weren't right and you don't forgive yourself, it's like carrying a monkey on your back. I have had conversations with great friends of mine who have had some issues and they weren't sure why they were feeling the way they were feeling. I asked if they had thought about forgiving themselves and if they thought that might help. They had never thought about it that way and once they had taken my advice, they had told me they were feeling much better.

You have the power to choose your destiny. The question is, will you accept the challenge? My hope is that you exercise that power muscle and I will always be your number 1 encourager.

Stay Strong, Press On and Charge the Hill!

Passionate about your Dreams!
