BE PATIENT
People are not performing monkeys. Just cause we want them to behave a particular way or rise up to our level of expectations, doesn't mean it's going to happen. We can communicate with them, train them, support them but it's still going to take time.
People have their own individual learning curves. They are not us. Their grasp is different, their life experiences are different. Hence just giving them our formulae won't work.
The key is patience. Giving them their time. Trying to understand them and thus making them understand. It's an investment for sure but think of it as a mutual fund or a venture capital fund - it will pay out big but not overnight. It's not a punt at the races.
But best of all as we try to understand them, as we try to communicate with them and be understood, we are learning, we are growing. We may think we are helping them rise higher, but it's a two way process. So let's acknowledge and be grateful for that as well.
ONLY PASSION WORKS
Projects may succeed or not. We may get the glory and fortune we hanker for, from something we do. Or not. Things might go great in our relationships. But they will also hit rough patches.
The only thing that will see us through, when things don't go our way, in work or in our personal lives, is Passion.
Passion to do what we love and keep doing even when there are no rewards on the horizon. Passion to not let go of somebody even when their behaviour and actions are driving us cuckoo. The passion that won't let us give up on people or projects, won't let us walk away.
Let's always be passionate about the things that matter. Cause without passion, we aren't really living.
