Pharisees & Precious Things

I woke up mad today.

I have people who sound like Pharisees in my life today:

'She's been psycho for years.'

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

They are so smug.

When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man were a prophet, he would know who is touching him and what kind of woman she is—that she is a sinner.”

Jesus answered him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”

“Tell me, teacher,” he said.

“Two people owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he forgave the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?”

Simon replied, “I suppose the one who had the bigger debt forgiven.”

“You have judged correctly,” Jesus said.

Then he turned toward the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house. You did not give me any water for my feet, but she wet my feet with her tears and wiped them with her hair. You did not give me a kiss, but this woman, from the time I entered, has not stopped kissing my feet. You did not put oil on my head, but she has poured perfume on my feet. Therefore, I tell you, her many sins have been forgiven—as her great love has shown. But whoever has been forgiven little loves little.”

Then Jesus said to her, “Your sins are forgiven.”

I possess no accurate measuring device for sin. But I am sure that my sins far exceeded Mary Magdalene's. We live in a different age. And yet He allows me full access to her Spirit.

And how I also love My Lord for what He has forgiven me for.

It is a thankless job to do what God has chosen Us to do. I offer any type of support I'm able to, and all my heart and prayers. Often Martha'ing while I Mary in service to my husband as I cook, clean and listen intenty to what God is vesseling through him to help others. He is in turn, bewildered by who he thought he knew, kicked in the teeth, rejected and worse.

He is like Jesus in this:

"It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: `I desire mercy, not sacrifice. ' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

And for his mercy he receives mocking, slander and persecution.

Spirits of Pretend and Jezebel are dispatched.

Lot of re-writing on a lot of levels.

Lot of buzzwords of the day employed so no one has to be real.

Doesn't change the urgency.

The end is even at the door.

It's all about the Benjamins. The 'wasted' time spent. Sacrifice that's not really any sacrifice at all. Done with grumbling and complaining and gnashing of teeth. Now I see you have given at a cost instead of from your heart.

Precious 'Resources' when Ravens. Needing 'A Plan' when there's already a plan in place with strings attached to coins. A Bigger Plan than that is here, thankfully.

Thank you, Lord, for making it all so transparent.

All I desire is to see her smile again, hear her laugh. To feel joy. To be a Mama. God has already done the rest and it is finished.

Yet be sure I have witnessed the resistance. It hurts my heart to know what I know about how people react in situations such as these.

Precious Things deserve The Best.

And I'm so thankful...that they have it.
