Hi! My name is Karol - I am learning software development - and I want to do it on Hive.

Hello, Hive!.png

Hello!

I am learning to code and I would like to change my career. I don't want to overcomplicate my goals regarding programming and Hive, so for now I will just quickly list what are my plans:

  1. Learn full-stack development - HTML CSS & JavaScript as fundaments. (I would say that I already have entry level skills, however I am not working as software developer yet)
  2. Document my journey on social media - I am mainly active on Twitter, however I really would like to transition to Hive and Hive dApps.
  3. Find and join the programming community on Hive and contribute to its growth.
  4. Build a project utilizing Hive Blockchain.

That is all, If you are also a programmer and would like to connect, please comment or DM me, I would love to connect!

Thanks
Karol

Hello @karolsongin! This is @traciyork from the @ocd (Original Content Decentralized) curation team. We noticed you shared your first post here on Hive and introduced yourself to the community - congratulations and welcome!

Speaking of community, we have many different ones here on the blockchain, devoted to all kinds of interests. Here's a link so you can check them all out - Hive Communities. I see you've already subbed to HiveDevs and Programming & Dev. You might also want to check out the STEMGeeks community, as well as connecting with @steevc, who runs the monthly Brit List (an awesome way to connect with others from the UK).

Also, as Hive can sometimes be quite confusing, the newly launched Newbies Guide should be helpful to you, as it is a growing repository of useful and easy to understand posts about how the Hive ecosystem works. For instance, there's a post in the collection called 3 things Newbies should do in their first week on Hive that you might find helpful.

Please be aware that Hive is a bit different from other social media platforms since you are monetizing your blog, so it is important not to include content that you don't own without sources (and it shouldn't exceed 50% of the post). For more information, check this post - Why and How People Abuse and Plagiarise by hivewatchers.

If you have questions, feel free to hop into the OCD Discord server and we'll do our best to answer them, and again welcome to Hive!

If you like Twitter you should check out #threads .. also on the HIVE blockchain

Welcome to Hive Karol. It's a cool play for developers as you can play with masses of data. This resource may be useful. I tend to use Python with the beem library and some @hivesql for queries.

I will include you on the next #BritList.

Have fun.

Hello Karol. This is a great place to learn whilst also sharing one’s journey:). Good luck with the programming and the posting and nice to see you on Hive!

Welcome to Hive, it's a great place to learn stuff. Good luck on your journey here.

Good luck!

I can probably help with most of your Hive-Api questions.
Contact me on Discord.

Hey Karol, that's awesome! Have you checked out ReactJS?

Are you planning to write "tutorials" on Hive? I have a small (front-end) coding background, but I fail to set up environments (or connect to APIs) LOL.

Hi Ruben, thanks for your comment! Yes I am planning to create some beginner-friendly tutorials but in video format, so I will be posting them on 3speak. I know ReactJS - my advice for you will be to check ReactJS framework called NextJS - that would help you to build full stack apps with React.

Nice, great to hear! Will be looking forward to that. I can code and design front-end with React, but I have trouble connecting with the more "technical" stuff, like for example, the Hive API. I can show you something that I've made through Discord.

I would love to see what you are working on. On which Hive discord I can find you?

I think I've seen you on the 3SPK discord, I'll drop you a link :D

great to see you here!

@tipu curate

Hey! Cool 😎 to see you getting involved with HIVE.

I would recommend joining some of the discord servers of projects you find interested with. Most of them have some channels for tricks and questions that may be very helpful for aspiring development.

If have any difficulties on finding anything or any of them, ping me. Happy to help around.

Welcome to Hive @karolsongin. 🙂 It's the same thing with me, I also want to be a "developer".

I am currently completing a course where PHP and MySQL are included in addition to the technologies you mentioned. I'll probably decide on one thing later because Full stack seems too complicated for one person right now.

You can check out my current GitHub profile if you want: https://github.com/Dzoji

In any case, I wish you the best of luck and success. 🙂
