ONE LESSON STEEMIT TAUGHT ME: Understand the rules, then you can play.

Hello guys, its been a whole long time since I made any post..
Particularly for me, the whole platform seemed quite shady for me..
Prior to the time I joined, had so many needs, problems only money could solve.

And so when a brother @samstickzz introduced me to the platform, it was like an answered prayer.. I was eager to start making post.. "make a post and Get paid"... At least so I thought.. I didn't just bother finding out or even asking to know more.
Its the same thing in this part of the globe particularly AFRICA.
we want something so bad, but we don't want to get to the roots about that particular thing, we don't bother to get the in-depth analysis of it all.. Its like buying a washing machine, without carefully going through the manual.
When u encounter challenges, it might be difficult going back to the manual, because you ignored it in the first place.
Most time, the solution to a particular hard problem might be, because you didn't pay detailed attention, you probably dint want to find out more about the said problem..
Furthermore, when I saw my friend who I introduced to the platform make more on their post, the feeling of tiredness and frustration crept in, as I wondered what the problem could be.

Some would say to me "hey bro, follow up on steemit whales, comment on their post and give them upvote".
Lol!!! I did that but that would make me seem desperate.. Make me look like "HOOKAH searching for DOLLAR". And I didn't like that either.
U might succeed in doing that but my question is what happens to the way people would perceive u to be. U might do that because you would need them to give you upvote when u make a post. But to me, it didn't sound right.
Another person suggested, " why don't u take picture with folks that have been successful in the game(steemit),"
When you post it, you never can tell??"
That was the craziest suggestion I ever heard.. Lol. It made me wonder.
The truth is I didnt try that.
After few weeks, I gave the whole stuff a rethink.
When I take a look at post that had so much earnings, I asked myself, "what did this guys do right, that I didn't?"
Firstly I went back to finding out more, this time I was thirsty to know more. Permit me to say I became "steemingly inquisitive".
I got on the steem chat, made sincere connections with other steemians..
Read other bloggs, found out about D-TUBE, DISCORD.

The interesting thing about it was that I began doing the right thing, being real, being @preshyjay (myself) and I didnt even notice.
I had to be myself.

‎Steemit says u have to be yourself on the platform, and getting paid for a post is an addition.. It meant firstly you don't have to think about the money.. Create constructive post, and make ur blog worth the interaction.
Its just like the verse in the bible that says
" seek him first the kingdom, and every other thing shall be added".

Lastly, steemit taught me PATIENCE and PERSEVERANCE.. The reason a whole lot of people get flagged on this platform. Its because they are always in a hurry to make money..Especially when ur earnings doesn't leave 0.05.. I understood that money come to people that prepare for it.. And when I mean "PREPARE", I mean hardwork.. When u dont make enough on a particular post, make another one. That is why most people indulge in " PLAGIARISM ".. Lifting stuffs from other blogg, because you don't prepare your writing, you don't spend time with yourself to brood on a post.

This New knowledge has really changed my life, and perspective on some personal issues I encountered.
They say knowledge is practical, if u don't practice it, it can't stick.
It changed the way I see things now, my view about life. And its quite amusing that I learnt that via steemit.

Some of my folks would say "steemit is a whole different platform, even if u don't make much now, its far better than just getting LIKES on Facebook".
No hard feelings tho!
LOOOOOLL!!!!
